Just papering over the cracks
My theory is Giggs was on the pitch and he's said to the lads, F*ck it lets play like we used to, b*llocks to his (moyes) ideas.

Oh dear. I had bayern down as eventual winners, and who I'd want to avoid alongside real. Let's just hope robben gets a knock. Hopefully utd will pick up some momentum before the first leg.

Good win today, and what's more they did it without the old guard.
No giggs, vidic, evera,or Ferdinand.
Still some defensive frailties but we can strengthen that in the off season.
Just city now lol

Good to half decent players dont forget how to play as a team just like that.
Martinez is showing just what he's getting out of a Moyes team

I don't really see the issue here with United, anyone in their right mind who supports Manchester United, knew full well that this season wasn't going to be all whistles and bells, the team was getting old and needs a good refresh, we only just won the premier league last year and a change of manager can lead to a year or two of disruption when you need a clear out.
No we are not doing well this season, then again our council house neighbours on benefits wont be singing too well next year either when they get hammered for not making money (damn I could have given them a team if they gave me 1 billion quid over the last 5 years ), but they do have a good team, yet it spoils football, its meant to be entertainment, the likes of Liverpool (spits on the ground) gave that in the 80's, in the 90's and 00's it was Man Utd with the odd Chelsea, Blackburn and Arsenal interlude.
This season, not worried, next season, house clearance

Agree on a lot of those points and have said the same before and during the season, I get all of that and accept it.
Never heard a United Manager say we aspire to be like City though and I dont think I'll hear it again either, he should aspire to be a great United side.

We really need someone like Kroos and a completely new defence to come in. City have won more away games this season than we've won home games

Well that went a lot better than expected. Vidic and Rio were solid at the back. Kagawa impressed me going forward and covering buttner and jones well.
Welbeck showed why he will never be a RvP. Gets in the right places but makes the wring choices. Reminds me of Andy Cole - give him 4 chances and he will bag one of them.
Fellaini again seems to need two touches every time and you just dont get that luxury against the top teams.

Indeed and every game I have seen him play other than Olympiakos where he came on late and did a good job of holding the ball nr the corner flag. He also wins very few headers considering his height advantage.
Was good to see Bayern getting rattled. So much for Peps policy of no long range shots as seen as wasting possession. Schweinsteiger red was a little harsh but Martinez was lucky not to get 2 yellows.

Have to disagree on that. Ref got the clash with Boateng spot on as a 50/50 coming together. Both dived in recklessly and Boateng got there first by a nanosecond but still swept through Valencia.
