I read in the papers today that the Glaziers are planning, due to unlikelihood of champions league football next year, to play a series of friendlies and exhibition matches (to recoup lost revenue)

What do the Man U fans feel about turning Man U into a sort of footballing version of the Harlem globetrotters

Maybe they will rename the team - Manchester United Allstars

Makes good business for a team whose financial model for the last 20years has been based on not being mid-table. I applaud them for at least staving off a Leeds United scenario. It's a period of adjustment. Deal with it. That team will be back on top again at some point. You cannot be kings forever, certainly not in A league as competitive top to bottom as the Premier League.

It could be worse, you could be a Spurs fan like me having never seen your team win a title in their lifetime or a meaningful cup win since 1991. Whilst your team is being knocked by us other fans I'd take it as a compliment. I am envious of that trophy cabinet of yours.

from such an under achieving team, how long since lfc were in there ??

Just as we've loved the work of King Kenny, Beni, Evans, Houllier, hodgson, Souness et al seems Moyes is our very own Benitez, he's just as clueless

These scousers crack me up. Win the league? No chance, 3rd place at best, then when all is said and done it will be another season without winning anything (same as this 'awful' season United are having).

Granted you will have Champions league football, which will at least make a nice change for you to play in the week again.

I read that Moyes says there is no chance of him being sacked. I hope you feel as happy about that news as I do?

I'll reiterate some of what I've posted already

We have to give him time (maybe not), I feel two seasons would be acceptable (what the **** was I thinking)

He needs to build his own team, he still doesn't know what his best team is (still doesn't) maybe he cant find his best team with what he's got.

For me he should buy now irrespective of whether the players they identify are cup tied for the ECL, as the transfer window in the summer will be a headache what with a WC taking place, i'd rather we got them in now and they have half a season to bed in rather than turning up 10 days before the season starts at an over inflated price.

Players out ?
Nani, Anderson, Cleverley, Vidic, Evra, Fellani, Ferdinand still stands

I will give Young the benefit of the doubt and put him in the last chance saloon

Who should we buy

Shaw
Barkley
Reus
Costa

It might be worth a punt on Lallana - without a doubt I'd like him in our midfield

Chuck some money at Sniejder as a stop gap, you never know , not that I agree with mercinaries like him.

Start playing Zaha more and dont over play Januzaj and we need a centre half

There is plenty of youth coming through at United to get excited about as well, it's not all doom and gloom even though it may feel that way right now.

I'm a seriously fooking dubious about Moyes playing style and potentially his coaching/training methods, Meulensteen should never have been allowed to leave imo.

Thankfully im old enough to remember life at United in th 70's and 80's where the odd FA Cup final was all we could manage, there are a lot of United fans who know nothing of these lean times and are struggling with the fact SAF has gone and with it a magnificent era has come to a close, but hell, at least we experienced that pheonomenal ride, so many of our detractors will never know what that was like or even experience it for a short period of time let alone two decades !!!!

Lastly what with $200m being wiped off of the clubs value on the NYSE recently we should be ripe for a take over, and who knows what that will bring.
Football fans are fickle and can change their minds as they please, it's the law....

With that I'm off to the pub to see us dumped out of Europe, lets enjoy Moyses last week of tenure

Taking the Rolls Royce out of the garage and letting it purr (and for the full 95 mins) seems to have inspired us

Now just need to work as hard in the remaining league games!
