Think some of you are forgetting Crew Skills as well when you've maxed out the particular tank,as they can give a good advantage imo.

 

yeah, crew skills make a big difference, especialy when they get maxed out on primary, secondary and tertiary etc skills

4 games of W.O.T and I've finally managed to kill someone.
Add me if you like but I'm not sure how much time I can commit to it and it seems like you need to put a bit of work in to get the decent tanks/upgrade.

For you more experienced tankers, what's the best thing to start out with and upgrade path in order to get something decent?

I went German to start with.

The Russian tree is pretty good, IS3 is a nice tank to try go for.

The German Tank Destroyers are Nice too, hard to say really.

A good one for you to try get and a favourite of all the guys is the KV1S

 

Yes i have most of the russian line of Tank Destroyers with their tempremental guns
Love my ISU and have been having lots of fun at T5 in the kv-1, didnt get on with it at first but have a couple of replays, 11.225xp, t7 tank killer lol

Nimbus, just dont go all out and try to rush up the tree, you will learn more around t4/5 than trying to get to tier7/8 (you really start to lose money here unless you are reasonable at playing and understanding the mechanics, go onto you tube and look up "the mighty jingles" or "quickybaby" and watch their vids )

Thanks for the tips. It looks like tactics have a bigger impact than the type of tank..

I've had to sell the French tank as it only had a reverse gear...

 

Right, I worked out how to upgrade the Victor?
Anyways, got 3 kills one game, 2 the next, our team won the next one so I upgraded everything I could then got access to the next Victor, back to square one lol
Didn't think it would hook me, but getting those first kills was great

 

its gets better as u get bigger , use the small tanks in the bigger games to spot for the artys, you get EXP for that

 

Vehicle equipment is also another major factor in the game.

That's the whole point of the game really although it can be quite rare in the Random matches especially if there are KV1 or Churchill (1-3) players as they normally camp somewhere near the back.....I fecking hate both those tanks/players with a passion.

The French tanks do get better further up the tiers mainly because of their sodding autoloaders.

@Neanderthal it's quite difficult to suggest what tanks you go for as all the tanks/arty/TD have their advantages and disadvantages.

And tbh all of them are good tanks but if you have poor team mates you're screwed no matter what tank you're in.

 

I'm sticking to two at the moment, the Renault FT (love how quick it is, even if the gun is like trying to knock down a wall with a fart). The other is the Vickers Medium MkII. Not massively successful with the Vickers though
