I am fascinated by conspiracy theories. The main thing that gets me is that someone arguing something is a consipiracy will hold a collection of "facts" ranging from wild to ludicrous and then usually keep arguing each of them until something sticks.

What that series of images confirms is that you can piece together a lot of things to create a seemingly logical argument but unfortunately a lot of it is based on flawed logic. The backpackers are assumed to be military covert ops but it is not confirmed. The chap being led away by police was in fact someone else and was incorrectly reported as being the suspect. Some of the pictures of wounded people may be actors to put in newspapers, made up scenes are often much more exciting than real life boring ones.

As far as I am aware, the CISPA bill has been vetoed and has not yet passed - and may not.

However, what this article does highlight is that there may be some factual inaccuracies, poor press standards and general communication problems between people - yet it is entirely possible the criminals responsible may be at large and they got the wrong person. But it is quite doubtful that the cops deliberately went after the wrong people so that they could cover up a sinister real agenda.

A very sensible post. Most police forces have a fine history of getting "someone" quickly after these events, as they under huge pressure. That doesn't mean they got everyone, and in some cases even the right one. Nor does it mean they are covering anything up.
