The football is irrelevant now- But all football lovers reckon he was he dogs bollocks.
As far as I know he never did any harm or spoke ill of anyone.
He was generous to a fault.
And he was a funny ****.
Give him a break and wish him well .
Direct any vitriol to the many people who deserve it -ie Fred the Shred , Tony Blair , George Bush , the fat North Korean fcker - But not our Gazzer

I love how people from outside the northeast portray a night out in Newcastle, fat birds with nowt on....show me a night out anywhere in the country where you don't see em, blokes bein sick.... Show me a night out in the country where you don't see em, lasses gettin dusted against bins/on buses/against walls......show me where this happens in Newcastle!! I'm out pretty much every Saturday in town and I never see out good like this! Seen a tramp making love to his hand once in a doorway but that wasn't much of a turn on tbh, we'll maybe a little.

Cloakroom?? Is this a real thing?

Do people not find that after the first couple of pints you just don't get cold?

I have been in taxi ranks in the slushy snow when there's no taxis and actually wished I did have a coat before though lol.

I wonder if gazza has his jacket on right now?

I'm not convinced on that .. weakness is certainly a factor, but would you say someone on medication for depression is weak ? or ill ?

Some people can't handle life and drink makes it manageable.

It's very sad.

You make a good point. He was a member of the British team though, you would not expect him to be particularly weak in that case. He would surely have realised the danger while he was sober and what it was likely to do to him if he gave in to it.

I think your second sentence could be modified to" Some people can't handle drink and how it can make life unmanageable." He had enough warnings, practical or otherwise.

Like so many that I have met who are in that mould, the answer is to avoid the cause of the trouble.

He'll end up like George Best, given chance after chance but still f-'k it up.

Richard Burns died on the same day as G Best. RB achieved more but his death was buried by the news of dead drunk.
