I was a PS3 gamer and mostly because my friends are majority PS3. I played quite a lot (450+ hours) of BF3 until my PS3 broke before Xmas. It looks like a relatively cheap laser fix but as yet I havent bothered and tbh I am enjoying the spare time I have not being hooked to BF3 lol. I don’t trust myself to fix it and not get hooked again. FPS junkie

I certainly am not paying £400 launch price for either console – would rather stump up a bit more cash and build a semi decent spec gaming PC as the gfx difference on FPS games I like is night and day.

 

all the hype just for that. there wasnt even a console to show. i bet the xbox bosses were a bit worried at the time but are laughing now.

 

Well, I think im going to buy the PS4.
Ive got a 360, its a decent machine, but i think that paying to play online is a joke, and now i have my own house and cinema system, it just doesnt look a good and polished as the PS4 would with the rest of my gear. No Xbox has looked good enough imo.
Unless the new xbox sorts these, it'll be a ps4 for me.

my fat ps3 looks nice and glossy and my slim ps3 looks a little boring

 

Thats what i mean, PS's have always looked the best out of the two.

 

That's the one thing that really worries me too, what the console looks like in my dusty apollo rack with the rest of my boxy dull looking home cinema kit....

The switch to x86 will make it a breeze for developers. Especially with both consoles using similar hardware. Although the 720 is rumored to have fewer GPU cores and slower RAM. I wonder if devs will take advantage of this or just churn out the games based on the lower specced console, with exclusive games being the ones to make the most of the extra power.

 

SO PS users will miss out again. Xbox was primary development platform last time because it was easier to program, now it will be because it's not as good!

What can i say? Im not a big game geek, I enjoy the odd game of COD or fifa.
Got some nice pioneer stuff and my xbox looks ****e next to it. Perfectly valid excuse if you ask me.

 

ive heard that programmers still dont know how to utilise the separate cores on the cpu for separate applications yet. apparently they cheat and dont use them to their potential and rely on the power of the gpu. when someone susses this probably a ps or xbox developer we may see a big jump in graphix and physix

 

Any release dates out yet, or am I being a mong and missing it?

 

probably november in the states , we might be lucky and get some b4 xmas but dont count on it

I'll be getting one of these, have PS3 and Xbox360 at the moment and love them both. PS3 has some awesome games xbox doesnt and likewise, they both have pro's and cons. Looking forward to seeing what Sony bring out for the PS4
