Doesn't really matter if the odd VXR or RS has a 'good day'. Lots of factors are at play.

Manufacturers tend to up the BHP figures, without investing as much on getting the power down.

As the man said: "Give me traction, not traction control!"

To be fair as already said previously, there isnt a great deal of difference in rolling speed between the different type of performance cars available. Ive owned a few including evos, gti's, sri's etc but settled on subaru as you can gain the upper hand on standing starts and the cornering ability is superior to other cars ive owned, including evos with their ayc that doesnt really seem to work well on 'real' roads. I now own a wrx bug and probably prefer it to any sti or type ra ive owned as its just as quick straight line (not running right at the minute though) with a few mods and a remap and tbh its handling is as good as anything ive ever driven... My advice is get this vxr corsa on a b road that your scooby is built for and see what wins then !

my scooby is on 70k and has full service history, not slipping, handbrake was off and i am pretty good driver as i race quite alot in my track car. the corsa had 1k on the clock, not even few months old.

Going get it up to indigo by the looks of it, there pretty close to me and seem to do alot of scoobys. My 1st scooby not i am not as clued up as i am on my track car engine(vauxhall) and is my 1st Non Vauxhall car. It odd as ive just come sold my 284BHP with 360lbs and yes there not as much throw you back in your seat power but didint seem much from it. My scooby is also 100% standard

It may be around 4k give or take but if already rolling at 3k and floored it then that 1k rev band is done and dusted in a blink of an eye (or at least it should do ) still should of had the legs on it, ill say it again something is adrift, there is no way both them cars in standard form the scoob is going down, I'm sorry but it just don't make sense
