as peaple have said get a boost gauge and check your boost pressure, i have seen a few scoobs that have had dodgey boost solenoids so it would only run actuator pressure, you can test the boost solenoid by pulling the pipe off it and blowing down it..on tick over you should not be able to blow down it but if you rev the engine up the valve should start to work and open and close very quickly. failing that your IAM could have dropped due to false knock the list is endless lol but i would deffo check the boos solenoid.
also check everwhere for leaks, i once cracked my TMIC open from it hitting my tein strut brace

newage sti is a far faster car than a wrx, the gearing in the six speed box helps with the acceleration too.

I agree with tubby. My 2005 sti ppp eats Astra vxr, megane rs 250s for breakfast, so I think a sweet running bug sti ppp should dust a poxy corsa!

Does your Bug still have all its Cat's still fitted to the exhaust? Could it be on the up-pipe leading to the turbo proving restrictive over time?

Get it on a rolling road mate for a bill of health.

There are a few corsa and astra vxr's where I live and I **** over them even with not given it much beans.

If you are running a blow off valve (tiiiish, tiiiish) get shot of it now.

Vf35 are pants on the 6 speed and gear ratio in my eyes.

1. No real boost that low.
2. AVCS disabled by NPS switch problem ?
3. Old fat heavy car VS lighter modern hatch.
4. Yes I have one too !

dunx

P.S. Get JGM to map it to around 330bhp.... worth every penny !

Dont forget a bugeye Impreza now is about 11-12 years old, there getting on a bit now, Corsa VXR is pretty new car in terms of technology etc, as Frayz has already mentioned bhp per tonne there is not a lot between the bugeye sti and corsa VXR in the real world.

Theres 30 bhp per ton difference and 80ftlb of torque difference.

STI shouldn't be having problems against a corsa vxr, end of.

As i've said on your other thread,

from the spec of your car I would say nothing is wrong and simply the Corsa is faster than you would like to think

Age isn't really relevant, theres plenty of old cars out there that would destroy any new vauxhall or subaru for that matter.

Yeah, but in this instance where talking about an old Bugeye that's probably never been re-built and possibly high mileage.

not me, but im not surprised.... at the end of the day its understandable, as technology moves on cars get quicker, just dispointing really as ownign an iconic car like the scoob i guess you dont expect it.... justl ike the supercars down expect high powered hot hatches to go past them haha

Clutch slipping?!? You'd notice that though I suppose.

I'm going for real world BHP per tonne scenario here combined with maybe a boost leak.

It sounds like the horses your engine has lost over the years may be responsible for all the issues with the meat we are hearing about

Just accept either your car is shti or the corsa is better. Or drop 5k into your engine...

On a serous note I owned a prodrive bugeye many years ago and was 3 years old when I sold it. It does sound that your car is down on power. Could be various things. I would get it plugged into a laptop and also Dyno it just for piece of mind.
