It's a cat back system fitted by the previous owner, cobra system.

Other than that its staying standard. Tbh the power it has is fine for me, I just plan on up keep and good fuel,

Should the worse happen and a headgasket fail, being in the trade I have a good mate who knows the impreza like the back of his hand, who will take out the engine and fit a new hg for £250 plus the parts, if I do go down that route then I'd have a look at the positions to see their condition and if worse comes to worse I'd forge them,

I'm not big into engines so in aware of the minimum needed to put it back together safely to run just a standard map.

I'm 50/50 on getting a window top spoiler and sti fog covers. So ill see on those, but suspension and wheel wise it will stay the same, I also want a spec c roof vent again as that was one of the best mods I did on my blob.

Sounds like a sensible way to go. Now you've done the Sti spoiler i'd say the rear top spoiler, fog covers & spec-c vent would be a good shout... might as well go the whole hog given you can do all of the bodywork yourself (assuming you are doing it yourself?... looks that way from the pics!).

I'm much the same on the power front. I don't 'need' more power as i'm not track daying it. There is something that feels very wrong about the fact I've got an API forged piston build (after the HG fail) and am still running standard power though lol

I did a load of whiteline mods on my WRX blob and I'd really recommend them to you if you've never tried it. Makes the capable standard power much more fun! Will be the next thing for me

well my exhaust tip turned up this morning, and there had been a cockup.

while it was the right size, with burnt tip they sent a tip with internal baffle like this

so decided to spin it down to seperate the skins on the lathe next door

this let me tap the insides out, but i did lose my burnt tip

next i took the back box off and cut the tip off

marked, test fitted then welded the new tip inplace

and fitted

Sound's great! I'm impressed with the burble the cat back system gives you with the 2.5 equal headers. Just makes me want to bankrupt myself!

So I was right thinking these have equal headers. Thought I'd read so.

Yep only the JDM 2.0 hawks have the unequal headers all other hawk 2.5's are unequal iirc. Another reason they beat the UK cars! That said everything I read lead me to thinking the burble was hard to get back until my exhaust severed at the centre box... safe to say that brought the burble right back (not a good way to go about doing it though!).

The UK spec is un-equal and the JDM is equal mate, think your getting muddled

You sure fella? Think you are getting muddled yourself? My understanding is the loss of burble comes from Equal headers fitted to the 2.5's. Could be wrong though.

Equal length manifolds for additional power and torque, with a down side of losing the Subaru flat 4 burble. Adds approximately 10Bhp to a standard Impreza. To fit all models up to 2007. in 2.5" Pipework.

Well to be fair the noise from Jake's car does suggest that a 2.5 has a good burble. Must've been another thread that confused me.

They really do! I'm quite envious of you both. Problem is you really need a private plate for it so it'd be a pricey mod for me!

Useless buggers the lot of them! Have you tried calling the first dealer to have a stamp in the service history book or did you phone your local one?

What makes you think it might be?

Have you thought about a matching sun strip on the inside as well it makes quite a difference in the daylight.... Looking good in light tint as well.
