wheels soaked in autoglym wheel cleaner http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423632109/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423632109/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr the car was then soaked in autoglym clean all, inc the door shuts http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423637531/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423637531/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr a quick peak underneath brought a nice surprize http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423645615/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423645615/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr sadly the pic of the car was blown out :( after a wash, the car was dried and brought inside and put on the double lift ramp the car was then ready for the clay bar, it was quite full of tar which was presoaked with autoglym tar and glue http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424743220/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424743220/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr the result of the claying http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423574243/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423574243/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr i then set about with the machine polisher, working with 3m compounds and various pads the car had three rounds, fastcut plus fine compound ultra fina the lights were also tackled http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423665643/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423665643/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr then wiped down and a nice coat of autoglym hd wax was applied. |

Sweet! I also had that initial 2.5 worry!
I just picked one up myself :) |
then i addressed the one scratch i could find, mind there are chips which i mixed the colour for to touch up,
here the scratch http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423661229/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423661229/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr touched in with 1k lacquer, infra red lamped and then polished out to give this http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424676160/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424676160/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr next on the list was to remove the smartnav unit, its built in and for me too much of a theft magnet you have to pop the gear leaver surround, remove the two lower radio facia screws, followed by the facia itself, then undo the tree smaller screw holding the vents in, then its a case of tracing back the unit wires and disconnecting, http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423669087/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423669087/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr it does however leave a nice hole, so new vents needed :( http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424762082/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424762082/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr after that i addressed the interior http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423694219/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423694219/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423565355/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423565355/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr products used were autoglym interior cleaner, autoglym magic spone followed by autoglym leather conditioner, glass was done with autoglym fast glass, the dash plastics left to dry satin. the results, http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423712449/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423712449/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423570409/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423570409/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424805716/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8424805716/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr |

wow!!! thats a serious makeover, looking immaculate!
|
How come u used 1k clear when it is obvious u no what ur doing? Why not 2k as 1k will turn white eventually. As its sh1te
|
final part was to go round all the edges getting built in crud out,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423735319/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423735319/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr before its final wipe down ready to go out in the rain lol then sit back with a brew admiring your handy work after a 8hr marathon. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423556523/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423556523/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423560847/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423560847/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423552693/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423552693/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr heres my box of tricks http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423580913/http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuprajake/8423580913/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/cuprajake/, on Flickr ive said it before, going over your new car in such detail allows you to really get to know it, and inspect it for damage, chips rust etc im happy to say the car is very clean, there are three dents all of which i will remove via pda. the final thing i will do is stick it on the hunter and set it up for fast road action thanks for looking jake |
Ps nice job
|
marshall,
i didnt spray it, i used the 1k on a tooth pick to fill in the minute scratch, before lamping, 1k flats down quicker and seen as the scratch is like 1/10th of a mil thick you not going to see it, hth jake |
you obviously know your s**t! whats the best stuff to use to clean my exhaust?
|
I no but av used 2k clear to touch in scratches and silicone's or fish eyes to people with limited knowledge. Not directed at u by the way. To many times to count but with a scratch that small I now see why. Just I hate 1k with a passion. Haha
|
Was a waste to mix some for the one tiny scratch, 1k aerosol goodness lol
|
Exhaust was cleaned with wheel cleaner, wire wool and fastcut on a mini hand polisher
|
My old bug bare with the model and it's being pick is why the hell you'd put that monstrosity of a sat nave in the vents, secondly why have it and the radio illuminate neon blue when the dials are red, throwing in a green clock and heater dials lol come on Subaru haha
|
Nice :thumb:

Hmm.. why just half a degree of negative up front. Sems a bit tame that's all? Also, your o/s/f is toeing out, while the n/s front is has toe-in
Brilliant job you've done there btw - what engine bay cleaner did you use?
