Tonight BBC2 10pm Colin McRae

Have really enjoyed taking the car to Race Retro for the last two years, nice to be able to do some skids without losing time! Unfortunately can't be there this year as I'm working away but will hopefully have the car out on some events later in the year but no plans as yet.

Its a pity they did not allow the 555 logos, I know tobacco advertising etc but this car should have been exempt for what it acheived.[/QUOTE]
Saying that the later cars did have 555, not sure exactly why they did that.
Same car in New Zealand.
And another change of livery.

The livery depended on the tobacco laws in that country as some still allowed it at the time, so Prodrive could run full 555 livery in those countries, but not others.
Colin McRae was given L555BAT after 1995 Rally of Great Britain where they had to use the 'banana' livery it still has today. Obviously the picture in NZ was before that.
The colour of the yellow used also varied with the event, flourescent in Sweden and GB, flat yellow elsewhere!

I can't see why the BBC didn't disclose the car used was N555
& that L555 was iconic & a museum piece / this would have brought revenue to the museum I'm sure , also it would have shown a kindly donated effort by the owner ( yourself) & not hiding the fact the car was once occupied by didier auriol a former world champion aswell . It would have made it more complete & educated those who were not in the know . To me , both cars are iconic
