After a long break I've started again...
I've had a moment and am now focussed on getting the car back on the road and used rather than continue down the over-specced path I am currently going down. The engine is going to come out and I will do the cambelt, sort the rocker cover leak, sort the cambelt covers that need some work and probably fit the sump baffles. However, given that I am running a WRX ODB and planning to fit my VF34 things such as the FPR, parallel fuel rails etc are OTT so I will probably not fit them. Equally, the smoothed manifold will probably get sold and I'll just give the standard one a coat of black wrinkle and refit it with TGV deletes, STI Pinks and the manifold spacers but in essence keeping it simple.
One thing I am going to fit is my APS CAIK; not as easy as it sounds when you have a Japspeed FMIC as the pipework uses the space needed by the CAIL. Instead I am going to connect the CAIK directly to the intake hose but the will require some cutting of the inner wing (made easier as I have no ABS) and the manufactur of a bracket or 2 to support the weight of the kit...
I have also started to discoonect the engine ready to take it out, more to follow and depending how easy it is to reconcile the football club's books tomorrow I might drain the oil and coolant. Once it is out I will decide how much I am and am not going to fit.
I've also got a bugeye WRX prodrive style splitter to mod to make it fit the new Prodrive bumper but that can happen after the car is on the road. I wish someone made a decent PU Rim splitter for the Prodrive bumper but even HT Autos only do theirs on GRP

It's been a while. I've had the shall I keep it or shall I break it moment whic is why not a lot happened but over the last six or so weeks...
I've discovered the standard rotten slam panel..
And replaced it (almost, just needs welding)...
I've finished the front bumper...
Tarted up the rear lights..
Fitted an underbody kit that I had to fettle to fit the modded bumper and skirts...
Lifted out and started to play with the engine...
Gave the subframe a brush over with some hammerite...
Took off the old gearbox cradle...
Sourced a nice powder coated one...
And fitted it complete with a nice new beatrush solid mount...
And finally started to prep some bits ready for a coat of wrinkle paint - the master cylinder will be black and the fuel tank covers will be red...

It's been a while since I provided an update and I've actually put something back on the car...
Firstly I've painted the servo
Then I've got hold of a USB and power outlet for the dask - just need to build that in under the stereo
Next was a thread repair for the water crossover pipe and the addition of a freshly powder coated crossover pipe itself
Along with a stack more powder coated goodies
Next was to fit the freshly coated from ARB...
Rear diffuser bracket (which is nicely at eye height when you're under a car ) ...
And rear ARB..,
Final choice is which induction kit to fit
Just got hold of an RCM kit which will be the easiest fit and I'll refinish the pipe in crinkle black as well as cleaning the filter...
The APS CAIK will need me to butcher the inner wing as it doesn't fit with the FMIC piping...
Or the K&N 69 series kit. It has a heatshield and is a nice piece of kit but would require modding for the FMIC piping to run through...
