Thank you for the advice! So you're looking to sell yours for 6.5k? Have you got a link to it?

Hi

No I haven't got an advert up yet but its ready to go. It's a 53plate Sti 86k but with full history. It has got a sc38 billet turbo and supporting mods and remapped to 360bhp. Doesn't need for anything apart from the usual knocking shocks.

I have still got a bit to save up before I invest in one. Although I very much like the Hawkeye models, the Blobeyes are also good looking.

What are the common faults and rust places with the 03 Blobeyes?

Only place I've had rust on mine was under the boot spoiler so I had the boot resprayed. Only other thing all blobs suffer from is the shocks knocking.

Below is a pic of a friend's car. Once I buy an 03 STI, I'm making it something like this.

Correct grammar and spelling will always have friends and enemies

Looks nice that . Is it an everyday car?

Mmm, would appear so, not sure what I've done to offend the poor soul.

Yeah, It's his everyday car. He lives very close to Anglesey circuit, so if anyone would like his services, I can get you some contact info

Looks really, really nice actually. Definitely one of the best WR1's I've seen. Unfortunately it's a little out what I was looking to spend . Thank you though.

Complete opinionated bull.. Focus RS has forged pistons as standard! And I've seen plenty above 400bhp running sweet with standard bottom end an pistons!

Every single day, usually 3 times a day, heh. Doing my girlfriends nut in.

Well I wouldn't like to give figures, it depends how many owners/miles the car has, I'd pay what I feel it's worth. I've seen some go for 5.8k~ and some for 6.5k~ would spend more if the car was worth it though.

For a 2003-2004, say 3-4 owner car on about 50-55k I've seen go for 6.2-6.3 so yeah, that's what I'm expecting at least!

I have 55 STi that as we speak is going through a full bottom end rebuild. I bought the car 3.5 years ago for £13.5k and have spent well over £10k since owning it. It's running 360bhp at present but this will change after the rebuild. It also has a private plate on the car that cost me £2.5k and I get offers to sell it all the time. I take it this would be out of your budget if your only looking at paying £6k ish ?

Sounds good and I'm sure it'll be easy to sell once it's in a position to! It would be a bit out of my budget, being modified and 2005.

To be honest, I don't expect to get a 2005 in my budget, I know they demand a premium and I respect that, I just included it in my wanted ad because.. if you don't ask you don't get, right? Someone might be looking to sell quickly or whatever.

I'm also looking for minimal mods for insurance reasons.

Good luck with the sale.

Hope I find what I'm looking for soon! PM STI-RYE, I know he's looking for a Blob.

Where have you checked for insurance ? A Plan Insurance do mine with a lot of mods for £695 a year fully comp with protected no claims. Might be with a call mate.

What age bracket are you?

I'm 21. Haha. They'll insure me on a Blob STI standard for 1k. A WR1 for 950 and an RB320 for 850. They won't insure me on a PPP at all and if I add anything bar non-standard alloys and an exhaust, they won't insure me then either.

Would make sense if they refused to quote for the special editions too! Same power/more?!

Anyway, I haven't tried the specialists but last time they refused to quote until I was over 25.

Ahhhh ok ! I'm 42 so I haven't got the issues that you will have. Good luck with finding the car your after and insuring it !
