Are scoobys over rated?
Exactly Ditch and I still had no issue helping him but start throwing personal insults out and you can jog right on. Infact I hope he enters TOTB next year and brings a mate with an RS for me to race...

Yes and no, in terms of what you can get out of them for amount of money you put into them, you can get some serious power, in which case it maybe the car i was expecting.... but there are more desirable cars out there for similar ££££
I wasn't talking about how much extra you have to spend.
I was talking about how much car you get for your money.
In fairness, a 15-yr-old car will have depreciated a lot but would still retain its power. That advantage however should have been overcome by more modern technology.
A (standard) 15-yr-old Subaru still canes a new (standard) RS though, yet the prices new are broadly compatible.
Yet when launched, a new Subaru would cane a 15-yr-old Audi (Quattro), who raised the bar a huge amount.
Faster off the line, yes if it doesnt **** a diff launching haha around the bends and roundabouts, id say the RS handles better....in the scoob you can put the power down earlier on the exit of a bend, but the higher average speed through the corner would be the RS...
In my experience you don't have to go even 80% of the way to full-blown launch to beat anything off the line.
The once or twice I've given in to temptation because Mr Heart has overruled Mr Brain and decided that the pratt in the GTi needs to be taught a lesson it's been a case of letting them drop the clutch, have 5 yards or so and then gently get the car moving before flooring it and taking them within 50 yards.
and scoobs are less desirable cars so less nicked, hense less insurance claims haha
Less desirable by who?
Youngsters such as yourself?
Sounds to me as if you class your generation as a bunch of car thieves.
I have to say that I haven't seen a Subaru featured on Police, Camera, Action - unless driven by a policeman of course.
Don't see many Force RS's though.
look at it how you like, i know what happened, ive driven and owned both cars so know which is best, so im talking from experience rather than yourself whos trying to make himself look big on a forum trying to protect his car

I think this explains your reasoning (apart from simply being provocative).
They are different cars that need to be driven differently. I don't know how long you've had your Type R but I had my first Subaru for about 6 months before realising what it could properly do, and how to do it.
I allowed an acquaintance to drive the car and couldn't believe what he was doing. He asked me if I was worried and I said 'no - you're not going to kill yourself, so you won't be killing me or the car either. I can't believe it will do this'.
Turned out he was a former N class driver for a Vauxhall dealership.
After that it was a different ball game.
Is it possible that you're driving a Type R while stuck in RS mentality?
As for the Video, ive said the RS isnt the best off the line, put both cars back together and try 30-130

Also, the video doesn't show that the RS was gaining once it had obviously reached 30, and the terminal speed of the Subaru was 100+, ie. less than 30mph left for the RS to catch up and pass, and it never looked like gaining.
didnt read the entire thread but very amusing anyway..
may i just say.. what a retard lol
forget getting this guy lessons driving a 4wd car, i say put him straight into something like an M3 with traction control turned off and see how many corners he makes it round before trimming the hedges. i would say bring popcorn but we wouldnt have time to eat it..

I've read this whole thread and when you got told to get some driving lessons you got upset and couldn't handle the truth/advice.
So if you want to get ****-y when told the truth then we can do without having to deal with you!

Before you **** up the Scoob please do us all a massive favour and sell it to somebody that'll give it a good home and treat it like it should get treated.
As in your immature hands it can only get destroyed and then broken to afford another Fraud RS.

.... I mean it dosent take much to draw to the conclusion that you cannot drive. You arguing that the RS is a quicker car and then someone posts a video showing an RS getting it **** handed to it and yet you still going on about it..Have you really owned an RS or are you just one of these bacon boys that knows someone living in the neighborhood and now pretends its his lol. lets see the evidence then (before it was repo'd from your address)

Well the reason you lost was down to driver skill.
something you're obviously lacking.
a front wheel drive car is easier to drive than a four wheel drive car fast.
the car was not at fault the lack of skill from the driver was the problem

plus the fact that power to weight ratio there wont be much in it....
1137kg and 183bhp for the ST....
Unsure of the weight of the scoob, but assume with the 4WD itll be more, plus it no doubt would have lost some power over the years, so say 1300kg and 260bhp, so thats:
Fiesta - 161BHP per ton
Scoob - 200bhp per ton
Real world, 39bhp isnt going to make much difference thats not taking into account things in the boot and petrol and other fluids etc...

If you can't afford your RS and think your Subaru is crap (especially compared to a Fiesta ST which would appear to be just as fast) then I have the perfect low cost solution for you:
Get rid of your Impreza and get yourself a Fiesta, far better car for very young drivers.
You can then tune it to 220bhp and have a crack at Banny

problem solved, oh and he cant really think his impreza is crap as he still has it and is still modding it.
