Regarding pictures I will speak with my engine builder and see if he is happy to put some up. Please understand that will be his choice.

Regarding updates - we are working on bringing some updates to the car through the official dealer network. This will be done in partnership with a well known dealer franchise in Warwickshire and will be available later in the year.

Cheers
Cool some pics of this white one with 500horses would be a treat.

While that is entirely possible, you would have to be pretty sad to take the time to create a login just to answer a question you knew nothing about........wouldn't you?

So yes I do work at Cosworth, as the Programme Manager for Cosworth Aftermarket Europe and the CS400 is my project which I designed and tested so please don't all hurl abuse at me just yet

Newgalaxy (Richard) can confirm this as he emailed us last Thursday looking for updates to the programme.

I can't discuss plans for updates any further just yet other than to say that it is in the pipeline with a very reputable dealer on board to distribute the concept.

My engine builder has given me 2 pictures of our CS500 to put up but I am afraid I don't know how to do it so if anyone can help I will put them up.

Thanks

Brad.

They're sometimes a little hostile to new people round here but mean well.

Brad, thanks for clearing that all up, I didn't mean anything by if I was just curious of how you knew facts and figures so thought I would ask. It's great to have you on board and I assume it's cross Roads that you are dealing with as of the link to the pro r gear.

Anyhow welcome and thank you for the input already. And congratulations on the cs400 its a great bit of kit just a shame of the price point. Would love to trade the 330s in for one just seems a shame you couldn't of based it on the my11 with all the updates and then taken it and made it even better don't get me wrong the Cs is great but think most would agree it was a shame it was not the my11

No problem Steve, appreciate your kind words on the car.

Yes pricing was and is always a tricky subject but if you take a look at the sheer cost of the components on the car its not difficult to see where it went.

For example the CS400 exhaust and race cats are still the only type approved legal cat on the market for that car. We paid a frightening sum of money to have that system approved for road use.

The fact is we could have done a lot more with the car but that would have pushed the price up even more and it would be suddenly become a £75K car quite easily so inevitably there were some compromises.

I would have loved to have done a CS400 Saloon but unfortunately we were not allowed

Hopefull the pictures of our 000 car shold be up soon and that does have all the parts on we wanted to put on the car such as our ported heads, our inlet manifold and our FMIC in addition it also has the original spec exhaust (loud).

I'm sure that was the case mate and unfortunately I only have a small understanding of the cost to pay someone to forge build a car and not the development stage and cost of parts although I would hate to imagine the actual costs. It's a big shame the project could not of been held until the my11 was due, I would be shocked subaru and IM were not aware of the major chassis changes to the my11 cars and should imo held back until this point. That is not knocking what you and your team have achieved as I do think the Cs is a great bit of kit.

It would be interesting to know how come the warranty that was issued was reduced and you mention these extras so I assume you have faith in pushing the engine further so I will ask what do you rate the capabilities of the engine in the cs400? As I gather there wouldn't be dealer fit options on the cards especially power hikes if you were not confident in the capabilities of the engine

Regards

The reduced mileage warranty on the CS400 is an interesting one. Not great from a marketing point of view, especially given that it was initially reported as being longer ??

One went through Blackbush car auction on Monday - less than 3000 miles on it and it went for around £29k IIRC. Wonder whose it was?

They were simply interested in trying to shift the remaining cars.

We have customers running very similar configurations engines at the 600bhp mark reliably.

I can't comment on the warranty side of things as it wasn't provided by Cosworth, that was from IM but tbh is pretty good for a high performance car like this.

The upgrades that are in the pipeline will be available through the dealer network.

Sadly we were not allowed to do the conversion on the MY11 car which is why we used the hatch.

Ok, sorry to keep asking questions but hey a couple more for you

could you specify similar configurations or more to the point, of what?

The factory built Cosworth block that is fitted as standard is good for what power out put?

And if these mods were carried out, how does that implicate the warranty? Surely as the ecu would need to be remapped it would void the remaining warranty and although the intention is to sell your upgrades via the Subaru channel again how will that work with the mapping the mods and your warranty?

Fair enough over the warranty. Are you able to shed any light on the upgrades or is that under wraps. We're there not my11 hatches though, or as stated above it was more to shift the older stock prior to the new model coming up.

Hello peeps....sorry for the delay, I own number 57 in Silver registered in 2012. It was the Cossie used in the Prodrive 20th Anniversary Timeline.

I bought mine back in July, got it for a good price (as a few have been discussing there are deals to be done), including an extension to 3 years warranty, tax, METASAT points etc....

In my humble opinion, I have owned JDM's, WR1's etc....and this is a different bread of Subaru. I use it as my daily runner (already at 7500) and it really can be both an "down to the shops" or "scare the living **** out of my best friend" type of car. I am more than happy with mine and its kind of nice to have a little piece of history which makes me smile on my way to work each morning. Life can be pretty **** and in some cases short. So all the haters.....why spend £30k+ on a scooby? The Question really should be why not!

I too would be interested how / if the upgrades will affect the warranty. Looking forward to the new additions!
