Did anyone watch the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures?

They were hidden away on BBC4 at 20:00hrs for three days from Boxing Day (with no previews or publicity anywhere ) but were actually quite watchable (especially with there being no adverts)

And only a couple of mentions of CO2 and man-made global warming - which is quite surprising for the BBC (and the RI)!

Better than recent years

Only three, one hour, episodes, which made them much more viewable (no adverts etc.) - you can prolly still get them on iPlayer, but IMHO they should be put on the RI web-site for future reference.

This year's chappy, Peter Wothers, did a great job - which was confirmed when he "adapted", on the fly, when things didn't go quite as expected.

It was science, explained at the "kiddie level" to encourage genuine interest - but also detailed enough for old peeps to appreciate what is around them

One of the few "jewels" left in our education system!
