That tmic looks really fresh mate. Any reason you went for the firmer mounts?

I'm just going on the basis everything is 18 years old now Joe so I wanted to firm it all up and make the handling as good as I can... the mounts came up for sale second hand and hardly used at all so it just fell into place at a cost effective price. I have also picked up an anti lift kit at a very good price as well so even though that was not in plan that will also go on when I get it and refresh it.

 

Mounts make a huge difference. The more the chassis moves as one and less as competing forces the more stable and predictable the car becomes to drive With the gearbox mount and solid pitch stop the smoothness of on/off acceleration is most noticeable for most people. You get no jolt on and off just smoothness

Great day today here collected the nuts and had a good look at the body earlier, all set for paint this week and it should be ready to collect the end of the week.

Also I have had the bonnet catch coated....





The grey coating is the stone chip, we decided not to do the tunnel or section where the fuel tank goes. By the time this has paint applied to it it's going to be quite smooth in comparison to it in the pictures.















Going to look fantastic with a top coat even if I do say so myself







The seams are also sealed so to prevent any water ingress.

Amazing rebuild, but how the hell will you know which bolt go where?!!!

that was the only thing I that put me off from doing this!

I would have to go a long way to beat your suspension knowledge and tweaks there


Cheers bud now I don't have the tech knowledge to rebuild the car but I have to be honest now and I may be talking junk but.... Wait for it there is a pattern to it all.... That may be a box of mixed bolts but I do see a pattern to the bolts, if I had an hour I could build defined packs the same size and length, body fixings, part fixings, engine bay fixings, there is a structure

don't be so soft The Bomber is in a league apart as the interior the engine and build design is far from mine, ok I'll have the fresh paint underneath I'll grant you but could you imagine your engine in this.... Frightening

Lol Ian well it was one cost for the drum full so everything I was able to went in there, given time and if they were more local I could do a second wave.

No mirrors

 

The first part of tonight's update....

I was lucky enough even those this was not on plan to pick up a Whiteline Anti-Lift kit... And a fantastic condition gear **** to replace mine.

Firstly I needed to refresh the kit ready for the rebuild....





Then cleaned back and removed the rust off the washers ready for paint.





A few coats of Hammerite will do the job, I'll source a couple of stainless nuts in time or I'll touch them back up after fitting.



Here's the gear ****.



Mine is smooth so this will smarten the interior up well.



The second part of tonight's update is great news, the shell is finished and ready for collection.... I have not seen it yet but will on Saturday so there will be a very good update on Saturday showing some clean fresh white paint at long last. I'll also be unpacking sorting and organising all the parts ready to commence the rebuild next week.
