I need to boiok appointment I have Trigger thumb and my elbows are cracking like mad, I sound like a bowl of Rice Krispies !

He could have Autism, (friend of a friend) has a guy working for him that must finish his sentence before you answer, if you pick up on what he's asking and give him the answer before, he goes silent, then starts again.

Absolutly brilliant mathematical mind, wouldn't think he was autistic to talk to him most of the time either, socially he's better than me .

Im not one to bad mouth a GP's work, as i know that they have their work cut out. I think its more down to the surgeries/practices.
For example, a mate of mine had a worry with his bollocks. He'd been putting it off for a while until he got the courage to ring his GP's. The receptionist noted his concern and continued by telling him that she will book him an apointment for 17 days time!
He rang NHS direct who sorted him an appointment at the local hospitals clinic that same day, a bit more concerned. Wasnt anything serious in the end, but we'd all be worried by ball pains!

Its rare i go to see my gp, but when i have, it seems like an OAP's coffee morning.

Well my gp got a box of chocs off me today. A small thanks for another year of care and patience!
She books me in for fridays and I can turn up between 5.30-6pm and by then her clinic is finished and she gives me as much time as I need.
I appreciate that I'm extremely lucky with this and very grateful.
If for some reason I need to book an appointment in the normal way , it is difficult to get through on the phone and then there's usually no appointments available, or they're not suitable if you're stuck in work til 5/6pm.

I did read somewhere that if you have more than one problem to book a double appointment.
I'm not sure if that's still the way they work though.

I've found that city medical centres (as opposed to rural village surgeries) are less accommodating. They're open longer but seem quite strict with who gets an appointment and when, although that may because they're busier?
(I've worked in 2, although my job was nothing to do with the actual medical centre)
