I can't say as I'm a train buff, although I love all kinds of machinery.
The scrapyard pictures are superb, so atmospheric.
I wouldn't know one from another, but steam trains are epic.
I took this recently, (posted elsewhere on here)

I'd like to see more of the roundhouse

It's now just preserved locos.

The roundhouse was due to close but a preservation group managed to get it, it still has a mainline connection.

Not sure if any of the smaller rail operators, like DRS use it.......

DRS do still use Barrow hill as far as I know. There is a building round the side which is I think used by DRS

Don't go there.

I spent about TWO HOURS on there last night afterb following an old film link about steam.
There is just so much on there now.
I had a cab-ride in an 87 from Carlisle to Penrith, and could have gone on to Oxenholme, but got off at Penrith...

My friend is a train driver instructor.
He once took me to London from Liverpool in the cab of a Pendolino, although bland and without character, seeing the tilt from inside the cab is unbelievable. As a passenger you don't get to see the crazy tilt angle, but in the cab you get the real view....

Excellent.

Had a couple of cab-rides in France, but not allowed to take video.
I was OFFERED one in the cab of the then world record holding TGV unit, 525, but sadly, being on a tight schedule to go elsewhere, had to decline.

I've just put my very first video together using some pictures that I have collected over the years about my old favourite engine shed, Edge Hill code 8A.
Due to the age of the pics the quality is not HD.

I wonder how many of the locos were scrapped or saved?

Very nice. Only ever got there right at the end of steam, about 10 locos on shed, the place was almost derelict.

Had I gone three years earlier, it would have been full of Semis, Princesses, Scots, Pates, Jubes......

Of which I saw a few Jubes, but none of the others except in preservation, ever.
