why 400bhp? Have you been in a light classic with 300-350bhp?
Although the newage imprezas are easier to get bigger bhp from they are also heavier.
If it was my money I would buy a Classic Type R, strip the rear out and few tuning bits to see 320bhp

Nope, never even been in an impreza loltheres a classix WRX just down the road from me running 300, and i had a little play with him in my old RS (around 320bhp) and his couldnt keep up, so i just wanted something which will be quicker lol

Per your earlier insurance statement - try some of the specialists, you'll be surprised what (little) difference modifications make - especially when done to brakes etc.
Indeed, every eBay advert for a WRX says 300bhp lol
