About 1 trillion - 50+ years - meant to be left more than enough to clear the share of the uk debt we would take. but by then i would think new tech would have been found to get more out of the areas from my understanding as 50 years is a very long time in terms of advancement in tech
More unbiased views put the reserves at less. Even if the first one is correct, 27 years of oil and then what? Hardly long term is it?

Britain is not the uk. Britain is the area that we are in.
ie: scotland would still be in the area of the British isles (unless you guys want us to pick up our country and move somewhere else in the world when we get independence lol)
just imagine all scotlands money getting changed to the euro or our own new currency.. that would be very bad for the pound i would have thought.

You leave your on your own end of.

from what I have read on this thread most of what I have seen is english people trying to
say scotland will not make it and we would never survive on our own
to be perfectly honest it is people like this that makes me want to go independant and be done with it.

Your the one who has this jumped up idea of self and the great scottish nation, i couldn't care less about you or your country if i tried, (REALLY HARD) and i suspect the vast majority of people in england feel the same.

its not hatered between the the nations, just not a great interest in either persons place of residence, there history or anything else.
ive certainly no hatered based on where people are from, ive negative feelings towards people i think are tw*ts from any part of the world lol.
im yet to be convinced to go for independance - the case just hasnt been presented well enough to convince me.
also, joking aside why does mr cameron want to keep the U.K united?? what does he have to loose really?

I,m Scottish and not too keen on independence, our little great country is being turned upside down by Salmond and his storm troopers trying to be all nationalistic, I quite enjoy being British and quite like the status quo to be honest. I can't see any REAL benefit to go it alone!!!!

Im Scottish and personally I will be voting for independence. Although I dont agree totally with everything Salmond says the SNP have improved my day to day life (council tax freeze, increased my wages amongst other things) They have also objected to many things I hate about the westminster Govt (pension reform for one)

Im Scottish and personally I will be voting for independence. Although I dont agree totally with everything Salmond says the SNP have improved my day to day life (council tax freeze, increased my wages amongst other things) They have also objected to many things I hate about the westminster Govt (pension reform for one)
Is anyone going to illustrate exactly how this sort of stuff is going to be funded once you gain independence?
