Too many people scared of change and just want to continue being Cameron's bitch.
Scotland should be renamed Scotlandshire.

Or too many people that were influenced with the lies coming from Westminster. Westminster had far too much to lose. They had to win at all costs.
They told banks and pension companies to tell us our money isn't safe. The told the Supermarkets to tell us that prices would go up. They said our oil will run out. They influenced the media, especially the BBC.
Some of what the government did in this campaign was definitely underhand, possibly even illegal.
Why did they make us mark the ballot paper with a pencil and not a pen?
I think it was rigged.

Too many people had unanswered questions. Simple as that.

 

The result is the result, it stands. The 'Yes' nationalist were selling a Utopia dream without giving any answers to substantial issues.

The Unionist 'No' were obviously but rightly questioning the unknown consequences of such a separation.

Now we have those who think they were stitched up and have an unfounded irrational dislike even'hatred' whipped up by the nationalist campaign. Just look at the intimidation with attacks on the no voters and their properties. Very sad .

It's no lie that a change as big As this will have negative effects on both economies for at least a couple years. Add the fact that the Yes campaign's action plan lacks specific details on important issues just added the doubt to anyone who was sceptical. Not to forget that only an idiot will believe a poltitian's own hype (regardless of which side they are on).

Common sense IMO, is it worth the risk? Half the country didn't think so. Good for them.

Unfortunely England Is still lumbered with Scottish mps making decision on English issues, a gripe, but a minor one; The bulk problem is west minster politics in general not satisfing the country as a whole.

Bottom line, it's a class thing. It's no shock that the biggest ****holes in Scotland (Glasgow, Dundee) vote Yes while the nicest areas vote No.

No free meal ticket for the scumbo's (not that there actually would have been under Independence) here. If you want a better life make it happen for yourself as opposed to blaming everyone else and the Government

1. Give up the cigarettes and drugs. They are bad for your health and they cost you a fortune.
2. Give up excessive boozing. Limit yourself to a few nights out a month.
3. Don't go on foreign holidays if you can't afford it - holidays are a luxury, not an entitlement.
4. You don't need a £1,000 60" TV, Xbox One or the latest iphone 6. Live within your means.
5. Eat better for better health. McDonalds and Pizza's are and expensive and a bad way to eat.
6. Develop new skills. Pretty much everyone has the internet, there is no excuse not to develop yourself to ensure your are more employable and attractive to businesses and organisations.
7. Realise it's hard work and difficult. Behind pretty much every millionaire that you hate is (usually) someone that worked their **** off making the sacrifices that you are unwilling to make.
8. Finally, appreciate what you have and what the UK Government has given you. For all the jobless layabouts that make zero effort in life; you'd have starved to death and died in almost any other country in the world by now.

TBH i couldn't believe when some of the celeb clowns got involved, andy murray said he voted yes because he felt the no campaign was to negative, FFS, vote on the hard facts, not on a political pissing contest.

A sad day for Scotland I feel, I think fear of the unknown was probably all that did for them in the end as it would seem Westminster's best efforts to scaremonger them worked.

The saddest thing about this was the No campaign's failure to fight the campaign on a positive note and promote the benefits of Scotland staying instead preferring to a campaign of threats and scaremongering that turned into one almost of intimidation at times.

All I hope now is that the Scots make sure they get their extra powers that were promised as Cameron has a habit of finding a way of never delivering on anything he promises.

As for certain English posters on here I assume the unnecessary vitriol displayed over the last few weeks on these threads will now be replaced by gloating.... you do yourselves no favours frankly!

If they did tell the banks to state your money isn't safe - have you proof that wouldn't be the case?

Unless you or anyone can put real context to any of the above (informed risk and impact analysis), what is your point? The fact is that the yes campaign couldn't factually state either way, as much as the no campaign couldn't. However, these are some of the key points that had no answer and were/are very important.

By in large the Scottish public have stated they are risk adverse I suspect. Based as to what's on the table, I can't blame them. This is very serious stuff.

Would you suggest it was rigged if you had won by the same majority? The referendum was given, the vote has been cast, the results are in.

Your extreme concern now should be focussed on your country now being potentially split. Infighting now within your own country could be your biggest issue for years to come. Things I suspect, will change forever.... in many ways - you ready for the ride?

I'm not sure people are aware of the Pandora's box opening.

 

I think you underestimate the will of Scottish people and insult their intelligence if you think the Scots succombed to fear and scaremongering from Westminster. Let's face it, scaremongering, negativity and intimidation was equally rife on both sides of the campaign.

The Scottish people aren't as weak minded to believe in what Westminster said, most Scots don't trust them. How about the Scottish people stood up for what they believed in and voted for what they felt was right for them and right for their country. Because you know what, that just might be true.

Well I have to say Alex Salmond impressed me earlier, he took the defeat in a really dignified manner and from what I saw of his speech he said some really sensible things.
