That's pretty fair - you can save yourself some cash then. I'm just glad my train turns up, free wifi is a pipe dream...

From what I can find out the 7" supports usb devices with an update and a cable where the 10" still doesn't support external usb connectivity which is madness. The 7" is near on half the price as the 10", from the reviews I've read the 7" gets a better wrote up than the ipad mini where the 10" gets pipped by the ipad.

Just a few things for any potential buyers out thers

The Nexus 10 supports USB OTG, the same as the N7, N4 and Gnex. You can mount external drives without requiring root since (IIRC) 4.1 - all you need is to buy Nexus Media Importer (£2), a USB OTG cable (£2) and job done.

We've been saying for week's its the must have for chistmas, so waiting until the last miute to get one is asking for dissapointment.

Re the usb stuff, there needs to be an app to work with the stuff you want, otherwise it wont work. why do you want a barcode usb scanner? it has a camera built in, just download a barcode app.

Hi mart, it wasn't so much waiting for one for a Xmas gift more I've just made my mind up that it's the one a want and it's very poor timing on my part with it being Xmas. Will get one in the new year

Scanner is for work, stock taking. I build servers for a living and run a warehouse, we have a 3rd premises that doesn't have Internet and is a dumping ground. Just be nice an easy to walk in there with a smaller tablet and a scanner and scan the tag number of the server rather than I print out and find it on a list and tick it off,. Just as it is full of the older vcheap gear or broken units the boss never likes to spend money on it so if I had my own and and used it, proved how handy it was to have he would by us all one for ease of use.

Thanks for your help
