Here's mine. Previous owner had it from 6 months old till selling to me earlier this year, just turned 70k miles. Not perfect one door has couple of "car park Doris kisses" but I think she's pretty good for her age. Standard apart from the spoiler and a nur spec.

Even standard silver wheels 16"" ? Too
A good unmolested example stright out of the box
Noticed even the sills and door handles are the original black as most people sprayed them to match the paint work very rare

is £1800 a decent price for a mint classic with FSH that has been really well looked after with no rust.? if it has done 100k but treated right it should last for many more years shouldnt it?

Better in as much as the older models are obviously worth a little bit less due to them being older and the later models had Phase 2 engines, facelifted fronts and interiors and a few other bits, but really it's more about condition at that sort of age anyway I guess.

It's very easy to do yourself if you're able to remove a bit of the trim. They give you thin 2' long applicator tubes so you can just get in there and squirt it about.

Thing is, people saying about getting ones for £1200 with 'a bit of rust or paint' is not really relevant to pricing a good car. Even if you cut the arches off and put new ones it'd neve be right and a £1200 car can easily suck £2k in bodywork (unless it's a crap job)
I'm not knocking cheap examples at all, it's just some will always want the best and are willing to pay for it.

I think youv already come across my post , I'm the daft 18 year old whom has taken on the enormous tast of restoring my dads old 97classic , and and yes the arches are TERRIBLE , if the arch restoration is something your genuinely interested to see in a detailed form then I shall make sure I take copious amounts of photos before during and after almost a step buy step walk threw so to say. Make sure you follow my thread to keep up with the process "I will attempt to ma like it to NBO with her if all goes to plan but snow really isn't the weather for cutting and welding arches unfortunately 
.... Guys don't give up , if your classics mean as much to you as mines does to me I know you won't it's a hard lesson learned that's for sure , the 5k insurance a year is the killer for me ... Already about 2k out of pocket buying things for her and replacing parts ... Also for anyone who is breaking a classic wagon please get in touch I still have a long list of things I need .. Thanks

Last year there was only 70/80 classics at NBO 10 out of 380 cars so it is a good indication of how many classics was left in the uk and out on the road
It will be interesting to see how many venture out for NBO 11 on Sunday 30 June 2013 at Lightwater Valley
As the NBO develops into its second decade it will be interesting to see the classics are displayed in the Arena
I predict there will be less performance mods on classics but more under bonnet shiney bits and colours ,like what Locky is busy with at the moment and detailing will be massive
lots more Money spent on quality polishes and waxes and anti rust products like the excellent bilt hamer range as people look to preserve them and keep out the dreaded rust which is still a word not used on scoobynet much
I'm also looking to see the first really big restoration thread on scoobynet showing lots of photos of a cars arches being cut away and metal added ,filled and resprayed
Interesed to see more accurate prices posted if renovations as prices seem to vary from £300 -£2000 and also DIY people attempting these jobs themselves

Anyone interested in a nice classic wagon? 2001 (yep) on a Y reg, mica red, just turned 70k, no rust. I'll be selling one in the next few weeks. It was our family car and will be missed but circumstances have changed. Had it 2 1/2 yrs and never missed a beat.

Just paid £2500 for mine, 99 on a T plate with 61K on the clock, standard other than prodrive exhaust, prodrive ST2s and an Alpine headunit. By no means a mint example though, going to have to spend some cash on the rear arches but mechanically it's perfect and has had the best part of 2K spent on it in the last 18 months. Very difficult to find a standardish one now.
