Nice uk turbo. Do they exist anymore?
 

Hi all it's been a while. I'm back on the lookout for an impreza and for insurance reasons it has to be a uk turbo (grp 17) but there all either cheap sheds or dreamers who want 3k for an alright looking standard one. I can buy a bugeye wrx with half the miles for the same price as a scabby classic. Have they all gone to the scrappy or are they now going up in value for actually being a classic?

The problem is that 99% of them are sheds which means the few and far between good ones demand a higher price.
I reckon you could find a nice one for £2500 with some hunting and a bit of patience.

Just paid £2500 for mine, 99 on a T plate with 61K on the clock, standard other than prodrive exhaust, prodrive ST2s and an Alpine headunit. By no means a mint example though, going to have to spend some cash on the rear arches but mechanically it's perfect and has had the best part of 2K spent on it in the last 18 months. Very difficult to find a standardish one now.

2 1/2 years ago I sold my one owner wagon, W Reg .... for slightly over £3k.

Standard - sold within hours of publishing my advert.

I can only imagine the same car would fetch £3,500 easily now ..... standard and a Classic and One Owner is a dizzy combination.

We are talking pocket money as well - really, aren't we? I mean, a shed at £1,750 or a Classic Minter for £3,000?

The £3,000 car owner isn't a dreamer ... if you want the best, you pay a pathetic £1,250 extra for it ....... hell, that's 1 weeks take home pay!!

I was thinking of selling my rust free UK Turbo with 55K on the clock, but it is worth so little what's the point and also I couldn't put up with the sh1t posted on the for sale ads on here by the 'helpful experts' :lol1:

F1, sounds like mine! 54k w reg just got it out of the garage this morning to check it over, started first time, not bad after 3 months, I'll think I'll keep mine at those prices, also had it from new.

I use mine quite a bit over summer, but in winter I take it out on the odd day here and there just to keep everything working :D

I was only thinking of selling as have bought another car and can't drive all of them especially as I work at home LOL!

I have a w reg classic, brought with fsh (every 4-5k), cambelt, maf
and clutch Just done at subaru, 60,000. In mica blue, only mods was alloys and 2.5" exhaust system. Bodywork is brilliant. I paid £2700 last year from a mature women. Thought I had paid over the odds with all these cheap ones on eBay, gumtree. But in the last 15 months its not faulted once.

Was going to sell to upgrade to a newage sti but don't think I would get what I wanted so i am going to garage it and detail her. Save up for the next one

..I recently picked up a w plate UK turbo with PPP. 69K on the clock. Bodywork good apart from rear arches. Other then that, all in perfect order. £1950. Well pleased with that.
It took a month of searching, and all the other ones for this price were 100,000milers. Maybe I got lucky. He was asking £2350 though...

I've got a 2001 Y reg classic with 60k in Mica Red with zero rust on the arches (not even a pin size) and its not been resprayed before anyone says it lol. Only paint it's had is front bumper. Only trouble is it's a wagon which most don't want. Personally I prefer them (we have two) but can understand people wanting saloons.

We keep talking about selling it but I look at the price of them and think what else can you get that's reliable, 4wd, very practical (hatch) and nippy!

Mine is mica red too (saloon not hatch) and mine has no rust either... maybe the mica reds are special after all ;) :thumb:

Wow you mean that prices have increased as much as that , you say in the region of £500 in 2 1/2 years .......you would get a higher return over the same time period by investing in a slug farm ;)

Classics will pick up in price as they start to get older but as already stated its gonna be hard to find one. Id be a mechanically sound classic and refurb the body work. Mines running great at the min, barely any trouble but im looking round to getting quotes for a respray as well as someone to repair the rear arches so then its back to prestine condition

Don't think I'd sell my classic v6 Jdm sti as the market isn't there yet! Given time tho I can see the crappy classics going to the scrap heap in the sky, and the well looked after examples only ever going up in value!
I think the impreza has hit it's lowest point reg sales price as at one point you could get turbo 2ks for under £800!!

But thankfully the gap is getting bigger with nice examples holding a premium price! It's goin to come down to what model you prefer rather then what you can afford, as a decent Jdm classic will set you back blob sti money!

Even though polished and looked after the arches at the rear have started to bubble on the outside slightly so will get them cut out and replaced professionally next year

Immaculate inside and very clean
Would not sell it at any price as I have always wanted to own a classic car so will spend thousands to get back to A1 condition

Lord Harding that looks spot on, f1 and James mica red is one of the nicest colours for the classic along with steel grey please pop some pics up as it seems a clean classic is hard to come buy
