Why, for obeying the law?
If this government ignored the ruling and sent him back anyway there would be a sh@tstorm there'd be that many people crying about the implications.

Obviously in my right wing universe he'd get sent back anyway and if anybody complained they'd be told to bugg@r off.
But you don't want my right wing universe, and your cherry picking ain't gonna happen.

As far as evidence obtained under torture goes, if plod want to give me a Chinese burn I'll fit him up for whatever they want.

Why don't they just give him back his passport then secretly put him on an early morning flight to Jordan and tell the ECHR that he decided to leave of his own accord. As soon as he is out of this country he ceases to be a problem anymore.

To be fair to her she is the only home secretary to make a real push for his extradition to Jordan.

Blame the lawyers for blocking and appealing every single action taken against this terrorist.

If they (which would have been Labour, note) had deported him at the beginning, then an inconsequential fine and a slap on the wrist was the precedent.

Now the problem has grown as a result of the publicity and the fact that having taken the process this far, to ignore it would be politically impossible on both sides. It would likely only happen in a UK Bill of Rights scenario, where we leave the Human Rights Act as it is behind.

At this time it would be easier to get him out on bail and have some druggy stab him to death, who then unsurprisingly OD's back at his bedsit with some item of Abu's in plain view when he's found.

Isn't it amazing how the Italians can round up a boat load of Albanians and send them back, the French can effectively send a load of Romany's back, but WE, the once Great Britain, can't get rid of one man?

WHY do we obey every rule anyone gives us, then complain?

GROW A SET CAMERON!!!

Wasn't there some other talk of us abstaining from this bill of human rights.

If it was a Labour government yoru view would be different of course, but ignoring that:

1) On the two occasions she has been granted permission to deport him she has chosen to wait around for any other appeals. If it was me as soon as that judge said he can go I'd have had him on a plane. He can appeal from Jordan

2) The only law that is keeping here is the ECHR. So let's resign from that little arrangement and form our own human rights bill that is designed to genuinely protect people's human rights rather than see how far the law can be used to make a laughing stock of a sensible society.

3) Jordan is not on any lists of countires that are likely to treat people unjustly unlike some so why are the courts upholding his appeals? That is a question taht one day needs answering as someone somewhere is making a name for themselves and nothing else. If the government wants to prove it governs stick two fingers up at the courts that are wrong in this case anyway and send him and deal with the aftermath. Make me Home Sectretary for the day, I'll do it! Yes the do gooders like Martin2005 would be upset, but the sensible part of the population would see the logic and hey they may even win a few votes!

It's about time we started taking control of our own country again. Why none of the political parties can see this is beyond me.

Don't care. They are all the f**king same. Labour, Libs,Tories whatever. The fact is that none of them have got rid of him. The lawyers do not run the country, the govermnet do ... supposedly! No pont playing party politics over anything any more as they are all self serving greed driven career politicians too scared to actually do something in case they lose their cushy job! Hence they just talk about it!

My cynical side says that if this was something the government REALLY wanted, he would be gone.
Witness the furore Labour created when the ECHR as going to throw out their case about incriminating yourself for speeding?
Witness the TWO sets of retrospective legislation put in place by Lying Labour, the only party EVER to do so.
