I bought one for mine as it was implied that would help the Pro-R pack, unless the doesn't
TBH Not really worried if a £40 filter is not up to scratch more worried if a£1,000 ack doesn't

My 340r sounds much better than when it was as a 320R
Like Kev I reckon the performance of the 320r was closer match to a 330s than the 340R is
Although the 340 spools a little earlier than the 320R the mid range performance seems not as good.
I'm not worried about pub talk figures but more concerned about its performance on my bum dyno
IMHO

I'm with Tony, yes it's got more torque and you can feel that pull sooner but the bum dyno tells me it's slower than my hatch was by a very long way!

I never had the 320r, went from std 300bhp to the 340r and yes It made a big differance as you would expect it to but I feel if they mapped the ecu to your car and not a generic map I think we would all be a bit happier and see better results, just my opinion tho....

I've owned both a 330 hatch and a 340 saloon. Performance wise there's nothing in it. The saloon does appear to have the edge mid range but it could be psychological because I know the 340 does have the greater torque figure in addition to the BHP and both cars have the same weight.
Anybody who claims they can definitely tell the difference between the two is probably driving a badly mapped example, be it the 330 or the 340.

Well looks like I will be staying with my 330s then, warranty is up in May and I thought about a swap out for a year old 340r but if there is no difference then no point. The extra it would set me back I may as well basic forge the 330and get it mapped

I must admit that when I replaced the 330 hatch with the 340 saloon, I didn't expect any discernible difference in performance. After all it's 330/347 against 340/360. I simply prefer the look of the saloon with a rear spoiler over that of the hatch.

My hatch wasn't std it was running 360-370 depending on who's rollers it was on.
My saloon is def a fair bit slower than my hatch. Maybe I have got a badly mapped one but all the maps are generic I was told.

I have left mine as a 320r because I didnt think the 20ps jump was enough to notice any difference. Did get the sound track sorted from day one though, and the exhaust tips fill out the back nicely

You might find on a drag strip it's better but seems to lack mid range torque. IMHO
I'd reckon we need something like a race dash logixbox unit thingy to do test like 50-70mph or 60-90mph between 320r and 340r.
