I'm a big Bond fan and have particularly liked Daniel Craig especially after that bender Peirce Brosnan.

However I found this one quite disappointing. The opening sequence was great but then it went down hill from there. The story line was almost non existent and not original, remember M and MI6 headquarters were targeted in TWINE, the baddy wasn't really bad enough, the love interest was killed off pretty quick.

Personally I preferred Casino Royale and even QOS.

Thank god they've killed off Judi Dench, I thought she was awful in the role. Ralph Fiennes will be much better.

The film was very un Bond and seemed more like a glorified remake of the old 80s series called The Professionals.

+1.

IMO Craig looks more like a tough spy whereas slimey Brosnan looked more like a ladies' man.

I think the comments about the film being "non bond" like stem from the fact that the aims of the villain are fairly parochial in nature

An episode of the professionals is quite an apt description

not that that is an issue in itself -- just a bit disjointed and crap imo

Spoiler alert!
i kept on thinking, where did the scar go from getting shot by his girl from the train, when after the coming back, he only had one scar, when he got shot by the baddy? anyway, i dont let things like this ruin my movie experience

Just watched it - EXCELLENT!!

I'm not sure where they will go with another now that James Bond died .... having a gayboy baddie was just the icing on the cake

Its OK. Goes a bit A-team towards the end, but at least they didn't make a tank out of bits and bobs! I wasn't quite sure why Bond got shot and the baddies seem to be able to breach any security with ease, but apart from that...

Just seen Skyfall and was seriously underwhelmed overall. Up to a point (not wanting to give anything away) I was enjoying the movie and then it was like another writer had taken over the story.

Wish I had gone to see Frankenweenie instead.

Ill no doubt buy it on DVD to watch it again though. It's a bond film after all.
Me too, I thought It was a good film in its own right, but as a Bond film, I thought it was lacking something. Needed a little more humour, some gadgets, and an over the top mind blowing action sequence - that's what I expect from a Bond film.

I still think the best modern Bond film is Goldeneye, nothing has put a bigger smile on my face than JB jumping off a cliff top, and sky diving into an already falling plane, then flying it off.

Opening scene train/digger was a bit special.
Then it seemed to me the budget was exceeded .
Too much boring dialogue -( because its cheap) .
The accountants dictated the production of this really boring movie- and Skyfall was just about the old mansion in the Scottish Moors . FFS I'm sure Ian Fleming did'nt write this tripe.
And as a parting note - agree with DD , Judi Dench had a stinker . She does not deliver her lines with any authority .

Really?, better than the black and white opening of Casino Royal -- then the superb parkour chase, clever and different

the skyfall was just another car chase, done better in Ronin and Bourn

WHAT!!? No megalomaniac with a penchant for small fluffy pets hell bent on world domination who, unless his demands are met, threatens destruction of whole countries with a massively powerful weapon locked in geo synchronous earth orbit and such like and in control of an army of henchmen lead by a supremely gifted, twisted and evil assistant? Pah, I'm not watching it!!

Exactly. The scene with the digger and seeing Bond taking a direct rifle shot was good, I was excited about the film at that point but then it all went down hill.

Judi Dench? She's meant to be the seasoned head of M16 ffs but seems to carry herself with all the authority of a dinner lady.
