Nice, in hindsight I wish I'd done my ARBs but they looked fine until I changed the bushes and end links - you must be getting an itchy right foot by now

Well peeps, I'm pleased to say that 3 years since I set out on this road we've got there, the car is up and running and is sat in my garage at home
The last few weeks have seen a mega push and a huge amount of effort has gone into getting the car ready to be on the Somerset Scoobys stand at Performance Action Day, at Castle Combe on Saturday.
I must say a big special thanks to Dave Ball at Tiley Developments who has put this car together, he has gone above and beyond in my view to get the car ready and has done a really good job, he has been so passionate about this car all along the way, and said to me that he'd be pleased to see it drive away but he'll miss it at the same time!
Not that she'll read it on here but I must say a thank you to my wife who has let me carry on with this project and supported me through all the ups and downs we've had along the way, couldn't have done it without her!
So the last couple of weeks saw some frantic activity in getting the car ready, Dave pulled some late nights and early mornings to get her ready. Paul Blamire came down on Thursday and fired her up, amazing to hear her running after all this time! After spending time getting her to idle nicely and lay down the base map we went out on the road, which was pretty epic! We drove around 25 miles until Paul was happy with the running in map. Must say even the running in map feels fast compared to the wifes audi I've driven for the last year, Paul said the engine feels great and said it should be good, so I cant wait to get some more miles on her and ready for the power maps!
As with a big project like this we have a few little issues to iron out and the jobs remaining are;
- in desperate need of a suspenion geo set up
- speedo decided it was only going to work intermiddently on the drive home on Friday evening
- fuel gauge stops at half way .. lol
- air filter trumpet needs trimming back
Only slight niggles in the grand scheme of things and should be easily sorted, just so pleased to have her back, it has been an epic few days thats for sure!
So Friday was MOT day, the MOT centre had issues with their brake rollers so the car didnt leave until 3pm, at which point I realised the MOT wouldnt register online in time for me to buy road tax! OH NO and desperation set in! Luckily my mate Dan Hardwick (fellow admin on Somerset Scoobys) jumped to the rescue and drove up from Weston to Bristol, picked up the documents from me at my office, drove to the garage annd got the MOT certificate and managed to find a post office within 10 minutes of it closing to buy the tax for me, mission completed!!
Not ashamed to say that driving the car home on Friday I felt like I was in a money supermarket advert
Some pictures from saturday and the build;

So one journey completed and now the next journey of tweaking begins!
I'd like to say thanks as well to Paul Finch, Lateral Performance, JT Innovations, AS Performance, RCM, Torques and Paul@Zen Performance.

Glad to see it back on the road but I'm not sure how issues with the brake rollers would affect your MOT as they shouldn't put a permanent 4WD car on them, it puts strain on the diffs

So I've completed around 140 miles so far and car is running like a peach.
I was expecting the ACT clutch to be a pain in the wotsits but its actually not that bad, bit grabby when pulling away (esp on hills lol) but not juddery at all and pretty smooth when up and running. The bilsteins feel lovely on the road, very smooth especially compared to the teins I had on previously.
Got a geo booked in for the 15th and will get the fuel gauge and speedo sorted, just keeping a mileage tally on my phone at the moment
Couple more little pics

So today car went back to tileys today, we have covered nearly 400 miles now so it was time for its 3rd lot of oil and a move onto a 10/40 semi synthetic.
Car has been sat on the coilovers for a while now so should be nice and settled on the springs so a geo set up was in order and it's nice to have a steering wheel that points in the right direction, went for around 1.5 deg of camber on the front and 1 on the rear.
Speedo is sorted, but still having problems with the fuel gauge not rising above half. Senders were all checked and appear ok so next place to check will the be clocks/gauge itself, bit of an odd one but still hoping it's something simple!
Car is driving nicely, temps are all good even with the undertray fitted and I'm getting more used to the clutch each time I drive it and it is bedding in nicely, although I did stall it today on a roundabout .... oops lol
