Thanks mate, its still better than smeathorpe where I race, its a farmers field the track is covered in mud and **** lol!
The car is always disgusting after racing there!
Thats what I like about mine, that video i posted up, I drove there, raced all day, came 3rd and drove home, the 2 cars that beat me took 2 hours after finished running to load up onto trailers and put all the tools etc away lol, I was home before they had even left!

I'd pick it up pal and I've got use of a truck
Not sure on the particulars, it's a drive on ramp so no swinging arms.
Only reason it's not in use is because he's just replaced it with another one. It's got patches of rust on there, nothing major but needs a bit of tidying up (mentioned a plate needs welding) so he bought another, don't know if it needs welding as such right now but he's a fussy git!
It's as old as I care to remember but it's nervier EVER failed, so why he wants to replace it is beyond me, I always tell him he's a crazy fool
£200 sheets he wanted. Dun know if that's reasonable or not to be honest, to me it seems fair enough?
** thinking about it I think it's hydraulic, it's got a lever that pushes back against you when at full lift and same on dropping the ramp**

Mines booked in at aj's now . . its got more leaks than the Tesco fruit and veg section, it stinks of fuel and has no power low down BUT when the revs are up it goes like ****

I don't mind that, I could have looked over it and done the exhaust stuff etc for you. What did annoy me quite a bit is standing around all afternoon waiting for you to turn up and not hearing from you. Even a text just sayingg you couldn't get it running and wouldn't be coming up would have been fine mate just so I didn't spend all afternoon waiting to see if you got it running

Looking for a new 6speed now. Should probably chase turbo technics too and find out what is going on with my turbo too!

So, I have had some long hard chats with a good friend of mine about the future of the car, I know what I want and I know what I need to do to get it.
Unfortunately this car is not going to give me what I want.
So, here are the long term plans, seeing as I have just got a massive job and should be able to spare some money into my toys again!
Short term -
Hurry turbo technics up with my turbo
Rebuild the 6speed box with carbon synchros
Fit clutch switch
Remap with flat foot shifting
Convert my SSQV to recirculating
USE IT
Long term -
Reshell into a 2 door, fully seam welded, massive roll cage, flat floor, wheel well cut out and big rear diffuser, ABW wide arches, 10J wheels with tubbed arches and striped back engine bay.
There is also some talk of a low mount turbo, or even a front mount turbo.
Fresh build 2.1 CDB, I already have the block etc, all prep work will be done by myself, and engine tuner will do the main build. Subject to change as i might even be convinced by a 2,35 if one come in at the right price.
I am looking at doing the main body work and fabrication myself, my friend is a good welder and is always up for a project or two. With a spare shell to do all this on I can still use my shell and engine etc for racing and fun while I am building the main car. This will be a long slow road as what I dont want to do is pour thousands of £££'s into it all in one go, I could do this, but I want to build something special and I want to be able to stand back at the end and say, "yep, I did that"

Well fair play to you J.. It's good that you've got long and short term plans. It pointless putting crazy money into something you won't be happy with. Spreading the cost is also really important, it can get a little depressing doing it all at once.
Best get on the hunt for a 2 door pal.

Yeah, I think it would help to be honest, the thing that is really nice about this car is it is just really quick to spool up, and I like this it has good power, but it is very very usable, from 3k it is really giving you a serious punch in the kidneys on the road.
So by recircing 2bar back into the inlet i can only think this would benefit the spool, especially with the billet wheel etc!
The problem I have with projects, that I dont always have the amount of time or enthusiasm I want to to put into the build. I know once I make the car undrivable I will start to get bored and frustrated with it, so by doing another shell I am under no pressure to complete it in any set time frame,I can come and go as I please with it.
Too right, I want to make something special and prove to myself I can do it, obviously ET will be doing alot on it too, mainly stuff that is not possible to be done in my workshop etc.

Well, I had a nice day trip out yesterday to south wales to see Craig (Infectedbysti)
I got a 6 speed gearbox out of a blob eye that he knew locally that was breaking, so I picked it up for some good money in the end and took a stroll up to meet Craig and pick it up
What a top man, bacon sarnies ready when I arrived and a cold drink too, helped me split the box from the engine and we gave it a good going over before I handed over the cash,
The oil was spotless, it was either recently changed or the gearbox is in really good nick, I hope the latter!
He wouldnt even accept some beer tokens from me, what a gent
This will get put in next week, and the turbo should be back at the end of the month

Coupled with the short gearbox and manifolds it should be quite special might not be the headline figures but it will definitely make it far faster if the plan goes right.
Thanks kwik, yep I'll get a 2 door shell when the right one appears at the right money, not in a rush as I know this shell won't cause me any problems for the foreseeable!
