It took far longer than it should have, I was not impressed with the turn around times at all, it went off at the end of august/beginning september and only came back 2 weeks ago. None of it ET's fault, obviously when it is sent off it is out of their hands!

No amount of chasing or hassle seemed to help, I dread to think how long it would have taken if I didnt keep chasing Alan to get on to the ECU guy to get it done! I couldnt say where it went though, back to alcatek I assume
Exact experience i had with Alcatek too mate. Downside is he tales forever. Sent my ecu for the newage upgrade so it could take avcs heads etc when simon(r.i.p) sent it out to him. Come back after 5 months. Was well pissed off

Yep I can imagine!

I cant help but think my constant naggingh elped get it back quicker, as I have heard some horror stories about the time it takes! I was on at Martyn and Alan a few times a week Im sure they were sick of hearing from me, but I would have driven up there and got it myself if it took any longer!

Could easily happen....! You mean the converting from idle control "solenoid" to stepper motor operation? Unfortunately you wont be able to do much without having that done!

Yeah sounds like setting it from solenoid to stepper operation, same as mine had done, just hope that the alcatek guy kept the pin outs and the diagrams he needed as he didnt have it when he did mine which is why it took o long!

I don't think it is, it was working when martyn mapped it and then it went down during mapping. After like 10-15 runs it didn't wna start and then he said something like idle driver gone down n phoned up andy to check with him. Apparently mine was earlier version that had the idle issue at the start. I did get this from the late simon jgm like over 3 years ago..

Thanks banny and micky! Its been a long time coming! The running in map is on and the first 50 miles and oil change are done! So now 450 miles until the next oil change!

Was hoping to pick it up today but had to pick up the girlfriends new car from brighton! Went a bit left field with the choice -

A daihatsu yrv 4trak.

51k miles, full dealer service history, 1yr mot, all the options (fully functional) adjustable rear seats the whole bench can be slid forward! The 4wd system is actually pretty good on it too I am impressed with it!

Haha, for a. 700quid banger its pretty good to be honest I'm impressed with it. Its just for the missus to run around and learn to drive in. We live up ontop of the highest point in cornwall and there are no main roads so no gritters! So she had to have. Something 4wd!

It costs 25quid to fill it from empty and your getting 250ish miles from that, and I have been thrashing the nuts offf it to be fair! Should do her 40miles a day to and from work for 20quid! And considering her bus fairs are 9quid a day so far a substantial saving!

/Picked up this morning! Battery has packed up 13mths after it been installed, it swelled up like a balloon! Funnily enough the shop arent interested in swapping it....

Did 28miles in the scoob this morning and it is perfect, no revs beyond 4k but it is SO much more drivable witht he new engine, the AVCS and lairy cams really have brought out alot more torque!

Car is home!

Flew through its mot today, took it for. A little spin and did a. Few more miles in it. Battery has packed up though so currently its parked up in the garage until I can get thebattery stripped out and taken in. To be replaced!

It is a totally different car with the engine now, so much more torque, and that's just on the runningin map! Running it in is going to be a killer, the car just wants to go, but I'm not prepared to compromise the running in!

Looks a treat does that, I'd be tempted to do something with the filter though as it's sitting directly on top of the hot side intercooler pipe.

To be fair, the filter has always sat there, the intercooler set up is extremely efficient you can feel the hot side and the cold side is extremely cold.

Do you think it would benefit from moving then? Its something I will look into in futur for sure!

Can you not just rotate the pipe the filter is on so it's behind the headlight?

Looks to be too long, willinvestigate in the morning!!

Bought a new battery today, the last one packed up. Bought a bigger one as they did a good deal, came with a new tray etc. But the trap was 3x the size of the battery! Less than impressed!

If it was me I'd maybe keep the filter where it is but try and protect it a bit from the heat. Maybe rotate the pipe up a touch so the filter isn't sitting on the hot intercooler pipe, then maybe wrap the intercooler pipe with some decent heat wrap to try and keep the heat inside it.

On my last one I used some heat reflective tape around the intercooler pipe and then wrapped it with decent heat wrap over the top.

First 200miles done on the running in yesterday. I'm not sure my spine or head can takedoing anymore today! That fuel pump drives me up the wall, I've put anti vibration mounts on it etc, but it is still the loudest thing in the car!
