My Classic scoob...
Yes but Matt my power band will be still going at 8.5k, this is so far removed from a standard impreza forget everything you know about them
The size of the turbo, with the EL manifolds, wild cams, bigger valves etc my power band is looking to be from 3k to 8.5k.... This whole project has been undertaken to improve the base that I had.
There has been alot of consideration into the spec and what I want from it. As with any big turbo'd imprez you move the power band further up the rev range, so previously 4-7k was when the turbo really started moving to running out of revs only allowed me 3k of usable power.
With the new spec we are going to be looking at 5.5k of usable power band, so even though the peak figures may not differ too much, although a improvement would be nice, I will actually be much faster than the previous engine due to having more time to use that power. Less gear changes with the extra RPM to use will improve my strip times too.
Not forgetting my flat foot shifting etc that is now installed....!
It has been built to withstand the revs and racing that we will be throwing at it. So I have no qualms about using it to its potential. It wont be living on the limiter, but i wont be afraid to use it when I need to! Bad things happen to the unprepared....

Well said

Looking good my man, bet your itching to get down the strip and see what improvements can be made.
Thanks Craig, not heard from you in a while, hope things are good with you my man. Have you finished yours yet?
1st 200 miles are done and dusted, it is soul destroying not been able to rev to more than 4k lol!

I'm all good cheers J ( fecking auto correct

Been a busy few months in work is the honest answer. Got new services opening up and a new office we in the middle of gutting out and re doing.
Mines all running (YEY :LOL1: ) Just dropped the rear calipers off and drained all the fluid ready for new rear discs, pads all round and some racing fluid so I know she stops!
Looking to get it mapped asap really, just time at the min but I'm slowly winning
Yours is looking good there under the bonnet dude fair play. Stealth

Stealth was the aim of the project, I dont want it looking like it should go fast after all, where is the fun in that?!
So we'll be able to get out on track soon then eh Craig? Ive got some rear brembos to swap with my mate for my 2pots when I go with my widetrack conversion. But running it in is my first priority!

I will drop you a message later
Gonna get some more miles on her tomorrow, will get to the magic 500 and ready for an oil change, might just drop her into engine tuner for the oil change to be done, I cant even get to my 2 post ramp at the moment due to the amount of work **** in the way!
looking forward to taking a drive out over the moors, the missus will take her new SLR and take some pictures on anice bit of road we found up over the brow of a hill down through a big sweeping left hander over a tor!

We'll work on alternatives when it's run in..
May or may not make more power but surely keeping the filter cooler can only be a good thing ???
So Alan, bigger. Filter reqd?
First oil change and map tweak last week at engine tuner, all is looking good. This engine is so much more drivable than the last one, the torque should be phenomenal when its fully mapped. This is still just the running in map but it already night and day in normal driving.

If Trails spent half as much time working on his car as he does polluting SN with his nonsense about french tin boxes it would have been finished by now
Looking forward to getting the miles done, aiming for a map first weekend of Jan.... Cant wait to try the flat foot shifting! Need to source some new rear Tein coilovers too
