I do remember them not being the coolest at the time but as a kid I was happy enough.

What was uncool was my Raleigh racer biker. Think it was a Flyer 10. I asked for one for Xmas and it was like an intermediate size racer with smaller wheels, my mates had full size peugeots and I had that! The best bit was the speedo, I wanted it speedo equipped, I got one the size of a brick and cable driven lol

One of the last mods I did to my Ammaco BMX was putting gears on it, I turned it into a 10 speed BMX with a 5 speed sprocket, 2 speed chainring, 3 piece ally crank set and a set of dérailleurs from an old racer. All the other kids were going "woah coool! can I have a go?" It was the only way I could keep up with my elder brother, he could pedal like a maniac for hours on his Raleigh Aero!

Love looking at the pics, where have thedays gone! I've just been on google looking at bike pics, memories!

Anyone else have a raleigh boxer? Was like a mini grifter. Me and my sister had them, one blue, one yellow.

I remember my mate's brother getting a raleigh grifter and having a ride on it, it felt like 2 tons of pig iron and as large as a house at the time. I've just looked and they were tiny lol.

Also just seen pics of one of those raleigh bikes with all the plastics, with the buttons all over it for sounds.

Striker! Another classic.

I can still hear the noise my Boxer made when pedaling, they had a distinctive knock/click noise on every pedal revolution most of the little raleigh bikes.

That happened to me on my sister's shopper, fortunately the jump it happened on was a grass bank so I got away with it

Don't remember that one. We used to do something with cardboard, can't remember what lol but think it was sticking it somewhere so it hit the spokes making a motorcycle sound.

Yeh, lol, did that too with lollypop sticks, stuck it through where the rubber brake block went so it poked through the spokes of the wheel.

Same as mine Also stripped it back to chrome, it also had beartrap pedals Skyway bars, uprated brakes, GT stem Laid back seat post and other bits n pieces I think at one point or another most people had a raleigh burner of some sorts before moving up the BMX chain. I ended up with haro freestylers before major injury stopped it all

Beartrap pedals left their fair share of perforations on my shins lol.

Skyway bars? Were they like CW bars that were completely flat across the top?

GT Stem and finger pull brakes schweeet!!!
