I've got first hand experience of the CPS and going to court and how they 'dealt' with the criminal who stole my brand new R1 motorcycle. He was banged to rights so myself and the police thought but he got away pretty much scott free due to the CPS. After that debacle I have very little faith in them to do anything right so it amazes me when I see them do something like this.
CPS stands for "Can't Prosecute, Sorry".

We all want to defend our family, our home and our possessions, and I like everyone would try my best. However, there is a chance that my children could end up fatherless, so as long as they don't come upstairs they can have the telly, laptop, and even the car.
A friend who was burgled but didn't discover until the following morning found broken glass tossed on the stairs, obviously to disable him if he were to investigate. There was also an empty pan on a full heat on the cooker, and the police told him this would have been full of boiling water, inteded for his face if he had entered the room. There was also a couple of kitchen knives left out, and the police reckoned there was two or three of them inside, and probable another waiting outside. They told him to be thankful they didn't wake him as he would likely have been seriously hurt.

We should have the right to bear arms like America. If someone enters your house (uninvited of course ) with the intention to burgle or cause harm, then they lose their right to breathe in my opinion! As far as letting them go once they start to flee, **** that. As said they might decide to come back. You need to give them a bloody good reason not to i.e. serious pain
There again, burglars are courageous aren`t they
