After that debacle I have very little faith in them to do anything right so it amazes me when I see them do something like this.

CPS stands for "Can't Prosecute, Sorry".

Anyone who thinks they stand a chance against four guys is either a superhero or a fool. Just turning on the light is enough to disorientate and confuse most people sleeping, let alone combining that with the shock of strangers up to no good. Unless you can get to a gun before confronting them you are only ever going to get a kicking, unless you are very well trained in hand-to-hand combat or bloody lucky. They will be fully awake and up on adrenalin, and possibly already armed. You will be dazed and confused, stumbling around naked, and hopelessly outnumbered.

We all want to defend our family, our home and our possessions, and I like everyone would try my best. However, there is a chance that my children could end up fatherless, so as long as they don't come upstairs they can have the telly, laptop, and even the car.

A friend who was burgled but didn't discover until the following morning found broken glass tossed on the stairs, obviously to disable him if he were to investigate. There was also an empty pan on a full heat on the cooker, and the police told him this would have been full of boiling water, inteded for his face if he had entered the room. There was also a couple of kitchen knives left out, and the police reckoned there was two or three of them inside, and probable another waiting outside. They told him to be thankful they didn't wake him as he would likely have been seriously hurt.

So far this is the only significant change in the law which actually does a bit of good for the country as a whole.

Its only taken a couple of years!

We should have the right to bear arms like America. If someone enters your house (uninvited of course ) with the intention to burgle or cause harm, then they lose their right to breathe in my opinion! As far as letting them go once they start to flee, **** that. As said they might decide to come back. You need to give them a bloody good reason not to i.e. serious pain

There again, burglars are courageous aren`t they
