kas it's in between actually lol,it's called egg shell effect which can be achieved with adding less matting agent than that to achieve full matt.
Its all done on measured amounts mate but I'd say the best thing would be satin black spray can paint to get a some where near finish mate.

Got cracking with the jobs in hand on Dave's car,first of which was pulling off the intercooler which requires sanding back and repainting after Dave's attempt at rattle canning
Next was removing the header tank as it's being replaced with a gloss powder coated item[i did have a tank already done but it turns out sti tanks have the outlet onto the engine water pipes in a different location so a quick ride to the coaters with Dave's tank has now got it being done in rapid time}
Lastly I removed the bonnet as Dave wants the underside painting in body colour because it looks terrible in that matt dark blue from the factory,all the rubbers etc have been removed along with under tray as that's going to be painted gloss black.BFE8E001-5B55-48F9-A1C2-48D916A7512E-230-0000000CBB588271_zps545abfc4.jpg?t=1360609728

So it was time to put the intercooler/bonnet/undertray and bonnet rubbers back together,I must say it has made a massive improvement and looks top draw!
Just the headers tank to put on now.

Its refreshing to see a WRX with a splitter and no sti-winglets.

Do you have a link for this splitter?
