On the home stretch with Dave's car now,the panels have now been painted and both boot and bonnet/rear bumper have been mounted.
Started de-knibbing and will start polishing once I have been round all the panels.
The front splitter has been done in black along with grille, also detango'd the headlights and painted the outer reflector in black to keep the theme going of black with blue on the exterior.
few pics from today

Also fitted Dave's Rally armour mudflaps[didn't take a pic yet] which I have to say are the best fitting flaps I have fitted to a subaru to date, very happy.
Plus the new black wheel nuts went on as well.

Got the last of the panels on the car today and finished up de-knibbing,done the first stage of machine polishing and then outside for a wash to finish up on the fine grade tomorrow followed by wax.
Have to say she is looking very good now and it's always the best part of any respray when you have it back together and you can see what all the effort was for!
Also gave the headlights a working over due to the usual subaru problem of hazing of the lense.

It all looks very good, and I hate to nit pick, but the door in this pic looks like it has a bit of orange peel? I noticed this on a lot of standard Subaru paint too (inc my own) is there not something that can be done to prevent this? Not a criticism in anyway, just a question! Sorry if offends.

No offence taken mate, the 'peel' you see isn't anything to do with paint but an anti-chip' layer on the lower part of the door[about 6" up the door] and is on all subaru's,basically stone chip only a bit thinner.
The only one's without would be cars that have had new doors put on and no anti chip layer put on or it's been removed during a paint job but it leaves the door bottom vulnerable to chipping very easy .

I thought the only thing he could cook was the books

I'll be looking for him to quote some re-work on my car after a couple of car-park hit and runs

Over all we are very happy with the end product here at C+K Motors as was Dave,on his fuel stop going home he had a chap come over and ask how does he keep it looking in such excellent condition and took my glory by not mentioning where he had just picked it up from
Thanks Dave it's been a pleasure to do your car mate
