The car is going into ABC Detailing on Friday for a tidy up and a coat of wax to last the winter.
Has anybody on here used Abc? They are only approx 3 miles from me so i hope they are up to the job.

Didnt quite work out as hoped. There are some shadows on the paintwork left there by leaves being blown onto the car.Apparently it will need some serious machine polishing to get rid of these.I am leaving it till early spring then have a major detail done.

Had two front tyres fitted today,i had to go with Falken 453.I couldn't find any 452 but the company who looks after the truck tyres where I work did me a good deal.
The car is being dropped off with Ryan later for its mot and hopefully track down the cause of the knocking noise I get on the overrun if I have been giving it some.
I have had several suggestions what could be the cause so hopefully it will be cured.
Strange thing is if I drive like Miss Daisy I don't get any noise.

This might sound stupid but I am not sure.It sounds like something knocking in the transmission tunnel. Its not a metallic knock.

I'd have a wager it's the flywheel causing the noise. Pop the original (well not pop as it's a pita job) back in and I bet it solves it.

Matty would that notice when you lifted off the gas and let the pressure off and slow driving opposed to under acceleration when you had constant pressure applied ?

How does that sound Dave have you noticed it in that regard ?

Don't quite understand what you're asking chap ??

I've had issues in the past with lightweight flywheels causing noise and vibration on overrun. In my own personal car it was fine for over a year and then all of a sudden I started getting a loud rumbling noise and vibration on overrun after hard acceleration. During acceleration it was fine, only after the pedal was completely lifted did it cause issue.
I changed everything from rear diff to the gearbox. It was only a conversation with Richard from ZEN that made me change the flywheel. Lightweight one out and original one back in and cured. My noise started off after hard acceleration but over time it started doing it all the time on overrun at any speed.
I personally know of two other cars that suffer the same issue.

if I accelerate hard then lift off the noise is there. If I drive gently no noise.
It is difficult to pinpoint where the noise is actually coming from.

Don't get me wrong, it might not be the flywheel but it's certainty something I'd investigate.

With regard to the noise not being there at slow speed, could be that your issue is only noticeable when the flywheel is spinning at a high rpm. If things are only a little out of balance then it could take a higher RPM to make it appear.

Car passed the mot.
Ryan found the cause of the noise, the downpipe was knocking against the transmission tunnel. All sorted now.I asked him to do the front wheel alignment because I had fitted two new front tyres. It turns out he had to do a four wheel alignment. The rear tyres are on their way out. Litchfield's did it once and PowerStation did it once and I still got tyres wearing badly.Pi55ed off is an understatement!

Nice result Dave, was your geometry setup for more grip as that will lessen the tyre life considerably if you've got aggressive settings.

Litchfields didn't ask what I wanted.
Powerstation did ask and i told them decent tyre life was what I wanted.
Hopefully all sorted now.
Always pleased with the service I get over there.

Next thing on my list of parts needed is a 3" turbo back exhaust system.
Which system do the mappers recommend?
Which works best on a 2.1 forged motor?
Which is best for performance?
Nothing too quiet.

I think Milltek looks favourite unless anyone knows of a better system.
