Funnily enough, I've not heard from him today, or his Mrs. I will see what tomorrow brings. He'll have no doubt swept my comments under the carpet and will just carry on like the conversation never happened.

 

Oh and another one, when I've mentioned to his other half she should leave him, her reply is that she couldn't stand the thought of him with anyone else. Wtf??

Seems to me that you were very unwise to start attacking him over his gambling habit in front of other people as well as his wife. Doubtless his wife was sticking up for him anyway.

The question he asked you was perfectly valid anyway. No one likes to be run down like that in front of others. The real secret of course is that little word "tact".
