How does a missing child get all this press? A child is reported every 3 minutes in the UK so what makes certain ones special?
I see the Sun is offering up £20k for info... Might say I had her for a few hours as I need some cash...

I would suspect the publicity was to put pressure on the gm's boyfriend, until he cracked.
sad day

Boyfriend of grandmother has now gone missing. FFS we all suspected it was him anyway yet the police didn't think to tail him. Unbelievable.
And I thought they had already searched the house two days ago. Just how hard can it be to hide the body of a 12 year old.

They searched the house but didn't bother searching the shed where the body was found.
Why would he do it though? (not proven guilty yet but pretty obvious). What was he thinking and what on earth could his reasons be?
Also I don't mean to be snobby or anything, but things like this always seem to happen on tired-looking housing estates, and the people always look rough and as if they are on benefits. I don't mean to offend anyone but it always looks that way, IMO.

According to the BBC website, there is a police warning not to approach Mr Hazell - suggests he may be known to police or have a few previous charges.

You may be surprised.... Look at the details of the Julie Hogg murder (they are in the public domain) she was an adult, following a 5 day forensic search of her property, Cleveland police failed to locate her body. It was only on decomposition her family located it hidden behind the bath.
They searched the house four or five days ago and i think they found the body and said nothing because of the bad publicity it would generate when the Olympics was at it's the height.
There has been that much money invested and sponsoring of the Olympics they wanted it to be at the front of all news.
For example, since they anounced that the body had been found Sky news has abandoned all Olympic coverage and has the Tia incident on a loop covering the same information over and over.
Sounds far fetched and cynical but the government and news media only ever tell us what they want us to know.
It doesn't matter whether you watch Sky News, BBC News 24 they feature the same news in the same order.

1: Unseen by the naked eye
2: Big enough to conceal a body
3: Bloody obvious
