Had smoke pouring out exhaust because of oil down up pipe , and turns out leak in fpr vac , and it was detting , and dropping of boost like a stone
Thought it might have cracked ringland but all is well on that front
Thought it might have too much timing , so double checked it all and seems ok
Went through manifold , vac and boost pipes and basically started again on the mechanical side and it seems all good again
Got a slight niggle at high boost around 20 psi but I shouldn't really be running up there any way

So you can count that if you like , but be a little unfair

Toneh im not trying to make a mockery of you at all but your singing the DIY mapping tune but yet you have just admitted your car is detting most likley due to your diy mapping mate. Factor in all the messing around and rr expenses you will have run up and it would be easier and cheaper to get a real mapper in would it not ?

I had literally done the manifold , fmic , ect the day before it had random leaks , a lot of smoke and tbh I was a little hasty
But went away re did what I had done and it's ready too roll agian
It's now pulling well again holding boost and all good , the map is basically the same , timing same , running little more fuel
Will have to see

Toneh, what Meth/water kit are you using & are you using Meth in tank aswell. Also how do you find it? I was looking into this & was going to get Harvey to fit one for me in the new year, but due to the recent sad news my plans are on hold.

Just basic aquamist 1s , It's ok but a little basic set to come in at 14psi
Yes 30/70 mix ,
tbh I've made a fair few changes to the car over the last couple of weeks and it's been a little all over the place recently , now it's settled down and seems back on a level I will start doing some experimenting , different mix vs timing , afr , boost ect , and see what's what
I've blanked off my washer bottle to use for my w/I and mounted a little corsa washer bottle & pump for windscreen on the inner wing below fuel Filter , makes a neat little job

30% Methanol, why?

Common consensus is that there's nothing to be gained going over 20% IIRC.

Its water methanol, its mixture of water 70% and methanol 30%

Yes you can run 50/50 which is mostly used and have possibly biggest gains

No idea why , its totally new to me , like I said as soon as I get sorted and time I'm gonna start more investigation and research , tbh I thought the norm was 50/50

I've got a lot to learn Jura
I chose 30% meth as a starting point

But obviously there are a lot of factors , nozzle size , meth mix , timing , fuel , afr

I don't really want to go mad running timing and leaning out in big steps so I'm not really utilising it properly yet
Until I learn a lot more about it

You've misunderstood......

Gains can be had the more you go, but it has been deemed that the biggest initial bang for your buck comes from a 20% mix (and I'm sure that this includes a cost element as well) for normal use.

The most common Meth mix is 20% in fuel tank, but surely Meth/water mix is hard to calculate as a percentage on this basis. Harvey ran an in tank Meth mix & the Meth/water injection system on his V3 wagon & had fantastic results using a twin scroll 46. It's this system I was considering but using a smaller turbo like a 42.

However, not dishonestly, not at the cost of anyone's reputation, especially ones own, and not without singing the praises of and giving due acknowledgement and respect to those good folks over at RR that have spent much time, energy much head scratching to bring OS to the masses, private or commercial. In this case Carberry.
Now then Francis,,,,, I knew you was a mapper that's why you couldn't answer my question on it, and I understand now why you are defensive on certain aspects of this all.
By the way I hope to god youre NOT calling your mapping 'ROM performance' as I see no info on carberry
Now that would be wrong wouldn't you agree

Please say this is a joke
So this guy is a paid mapper as we suspected !
The same guy that was hell bent on slagging Andy carrs mapping skills ( saying he's blown engines ) ?
The same guy that said let o/s mappers charge what they like ?
The same guy that talks about honesty ?

So it seems you want to make as much money as you want fella and by trying to drag another mappers skills through the mud ?
What was it you were saying about bees and stinging

Well folks here we have another case of our great mapping scene
A guy that thinks it fine to charge whatever and seems he ain't to bothered how he achieves that goal

Get you're wallets out guys and keep on paying that hard earned

Unbelievable

Perhaps you need to go and take a longer look for the correct info. Come back next week and you might know a bit more!!

If you're going to take the **** at least try and be original. It's like being back at school in short trousers!! Silly boys!!

Youre only making yourself look worse and by the nature of that reply i take it as the info i have is true.
I can also prove my facts mr ROM PERFORMANCE .unlike you cant prove that andy blew engines up
