£50k new was never going to work. Ford had it right with £35K for the RS500. Still plenty for sale now around £35-38k. Carstins in Coventry have an as new CS400 up for £50k. Somehow I doubt that is getting sold any time soon.
I've a CS400 - got it new at a good price and really enjoy driving it. Having that performance and handling plus a full 3 year warranty appealed - I dont have the inclination to do a build your own (or indeed the skills!!!), and because of the mileage I do a full warranty was important to me.
I think its a great car - I like the interior tweaks and it really does drive and perform like a dream. Not everones cup of tea I know, but it works for me....and I can get the dog in too!!

And your right the CS 400 only comes with a 12 month warranty from what I remember.
PS any of you CS400 owners fancy a back to back test against the R205 would love to see the out come. Evo magazine were going to do a review on the R205 against the CS400, but the CS400 press car blew it's engine

One review I've not seen anywhere is a CS400 vs X400 VS GTR.

I think they both got it Wrong there no way the ford was worth 35k, if the CS400 had been 40k new it would of been a good deal me thinks.

I think you will find that the warranty is 3yrs 36,000 miles, but is extendable at any time for another 2 years at least. I havnt had mine long enough to give any kind of an appraisel, but this is my 4th new one so I will be able to give an opinion It looks great,it makes me smile....and no I didnt pay nowhere near 50k.

......as for testing against another...I have no interest sorry...Il settle for comparing with my other toys
Probably the tracker and alarm, if kept in a garage you need to get a battery optimiser. Monitors the batterys condition and keeps it fully charged for you. I use my motorbike one, will not work on a flat battery as it's not powerful enough. Works fine on a charged battery though and much cheeper than a car one!
All I can say id im well impressed, its a beautiful looking car.Couple of downsides...weird remote .entry system....no bluetooth..no nav.no park sensors...with windows so black you can barely see out of...but ive booked it in to have a Kenwood stereo to replace standard fit...i looked into getting a rear cam fitted...but theres nowhere it can be fitted that im happy with.....got caught in torrential rain yesterday on motorway..got splashed and 1st stone chip

I got the uprated pioneer nav installed on mine with the rear cam - tucked up under the number plate I think it's pretty well hidden.
Know what you mean about the glass - with sunglasses on it like its dark out back!!
Like you, I ove mine - quite alot of adverse comment on the forums but I had some extended test drives before deciding it was the right car for me and it has not disappointed- covered about 6000 miles so far and it's great - use it for work but I have found that I can't get as much kit in it as I sometimes need, so bought an older spec b legacy for that - for me I have the perfect car combination.
Watch for the battery drain from the tracker (thanks to the earlier poster) - dealership said the same so I need to get myself a solar trickle charger for when it's left for a while.
Talking of nav etc, the standard pioneer that comes fitted should have Bluetooth though I thought?
