Yes !
It needs good supporting mods to extract the best from it, but boy do they work when you have put the effort in.
On straight VPower so far due to injectors maxing out we have seen, 420bhp @ 1 bar, 480bhp @ 1.5 bar and 520bhp @ 1.9 bar.
The cars coming back in today with larger injectors for remapping and we'll be carrying out a meth mix map too !
We are trying these, AFAIK they are the largest sidefeed injectors available.

got an SC46 billet on my blob with a fully forged 2.5 and all the supporting mods, i.e. fpr, parallel fuel rails, rcm headers, caik, fmic, 850cc injectors and it made 480bhp/504lbft at 1.65 bar, car makes full boost at 2800rpm and is mental for a road car me thinks, tops off a wee bit at the top end as it tails of to 1.3 bar due to maf diameter issues but bigger pipe will be going on soon and hopefully have it running 1.8bar tailing off to 1.6bar at top end so should extract a few more ponies also!!

Tbo Harvey it was extremely difficult keeping my eye on my boost gauge in my centre pod and on my rev counter.the figure was as far as I know correct but could be a little out either way

Understood. With a high powered car it is best to do these sort of things with a co-pilot.
There is another complication and that is the accuracy of the guages. I know my boost guage is accurate but the rev counter reads about 200 RPM high at 4000 RPM and that should always be taken into account. This is on an STi 3 Wagon.

Hi Harvey,
Is that graph your own personal car, & what is the advantage of the water Meth injection over 20% Meth in tank & is there a danger of the Meth injection failing?
I'm interested as I run 20% in tank but have considered other options.
Thanks Richard.

SC46 on a built 2.0 2005 STI= very good indeed, ive just been a few miles in one I built earlier this year. There was something not 100% with the indusction kit/intercooler as we only managed 387/370 but it does drive nice, not laggy at all.

This is my STi3 Wagon 2 litre. Built on a budget.
My Omega Pistons and Arrow rods, secondhand out of my STi6 Wagon (previous engine in that car). Reground crank, ACL Race bearings. Twin Scroll set up, obviously. An early Simtek and Hybrid GT FMIC (Not the latest GT2) ACTs are exceptionally good and have been commented on by others. Saw a max of 34C after WOT during mapping with ambient of 20C but temps more generally did not rise above high 20s.
I did some testing for SC on the SC50 T/S. That made 509 bhp but it has been decided to do further development on that turbo which was very strong but late spooling on a 2 litre.
The car has had water methanol injection fitted for years, initially so I could reduce EGTs without running methanol in the tank. Because it was on the car we used it on this occassion after initially mapping on 20% methanol in tank only. We had 506 bhp on methanol 20% with more to come.
Why would it fail??? I guess it could, somehow.
1) No water methanol(50-50) in the tank. Driver would deserve very serious kicking.
2)Blown fuse to relay?
3)Pump failure.
4) Clogged jet. We have hard water here but if you live in a soft water area then ionised water would be best.
5) Pipework leak.
The system is carefully installed. There has not been a single issue with it since installation. The reservoir is in the engine bay so you can see it when you check other fluids if you bother to do that sort of thing. Consumption is VERY low and a tank lasts for several tanks of petrol eg5 or 6 plus subject to manner of driving.
I usually fill when I know the level has gone below half way.
You could fit a level switch but that is an unnecessary expense and something else to go wrong.
If it did fail for some reason there is a Knock Link, Simtek CEL warning and Phormula Knock to alert you of an issue. If equipment failure or lack of fluid caused an issue the driver would deserve very serious kicking.
Boost is 1.93- touching 2 and dropping to 1.83 bar.
I will get some graph up.
At present 1 bar, 4th gear on the level, is 3,800 rpm on car rev counter but for some reason that is wildly innacurate by around 250 rpm at 4000 rpm. Lap top around 3600 rpm but further work may improve.
I may do some back to back conventional turbo testing but going T/S on a non T/S SC46 or whatever involves expense and work and going back to conventional and then back to T/S is a fair bit of work and I am likely to stay T/S in the end because 460 lbs ft torque on this 2 litre set up is very good. As I said there may be a bit more development on the T/S set up to lead to further gains.

Very impressive, especially for a budget build. Where can the water Meth injection kit be bought & how is it set up, does a mapper need to set it up?
Thanks, Richard.

I have bought several kits from Snow in the USA, both for turbo petrol and turbo diesle. There is actually a turbo diesle kit on the way now dor a friend, copying Dawn's Vectra spec. He already has 240 bhp from a 150 Vectra!!!.
You can set it up yourself but for best results it should be set up on a rolling road in conjunction with a remap. Control can be from injector pulse width, boost or a combination of both. The reason I say it is best to set it up on the rollers is that you can get a little more boost and a bit more ignition advance when it is all done properly but the adjustments are fairly fine.
If you get the kit I can tell you how to set it up or even install it for you or indeed obtain, fit and map but see if you can get it at a better price first.

I have an SC46 Billet twin scroll also on my 2.0 JDM STI V8, it made 456.6bhp at 1.65bar on v power, supporting mods: 3 bar map sensor, 3 port boost solenoid, FMIC, Walbro, FMIC, RCM/K&N Cone filter, 750cc injectors, simtek ecu, standard twinscroll headers and up pipe, 3 inch decat. My mapper stated with more boost it may of seen 480bhp on v power. Maybe in the future might get boost turned up a bit, but it suits me fine for now.

I'll let you know if & when I want one, what are the approximate prices on this?
