Only 16 threads posted on today.
Been saying it for a couple of years now, but the forum is dying. No doubt Ali and his shadow will be along in a minute to tell us the stats are the highest ever, it's the weather, it's Facebook, it's the Muslims or whatever other stock excuse is published for regurgitation to the viewing public (all three of us

People on holiday yes,the caravan brigade are out in force clogging up the motorways...
Nope, this time a few years ago there were over 40 posts a day, more somedays.
Times have changed, the social internet became HUGE, some of us remember when Scoobynet was a big fish in a small sea and it's hard to forget.
I'd love to see the stats for the site, I have no doubt the number of posters even viewers is surprisingly tiny. Sometimes the views on a thread look quite healthy, but do bear in mind that a good proportion of those hits will be robots.
16 threads of Scoobynet isn't bad, not when people have so many other areas to explore online.

CWE was fight club before there was fight club. But it was always the other guys starting it of course
Scoobynet indeed jumped the Shark with the sale to IB and I went across to PH some time ago. Its a much more highbrow community with considerably more traffic too.
Still it's good to see familiar names still here when I drop by from time to time :-)

16 posts is more than enough if you check this place once or twice a day.
The impression I get from some users on here is that they sit there, refreshing the screen every 30 seconds waiting for a new thread to appear.

We get a thread like this every week. All you are doing is wasting bandwidth.
The Impreza is a dying breed. They don't run in the WRC now (i think) but then even if they did, the new models look like Protons.

Plus people have far less disposable income to play with now.
How anyone can blame the mods for the decline is beyond me.

They are the gate keepers. They do not have control on how many people walk through it.
I still say they should merge Computer & Photography at the very minimum into NSR....
I don't bother posting in Computer as it has so few views, so its also self defeating, I won't post as it won't be read, but we complain that the forums are slow, so we don't bother posting.... QED - too many sub forums IMHO.

Must admit I've not been on hear for a quite a while and it does seem very quiet compared to how it was in its hayday. Oh well times change I guess, bit like Myspace imploding after Facebook arrived.
I read a lot of threads and I can say I've only ever seen one or two where the newbie has had a hissy fit, but that's generally because they are spoken down to as if they couldn't possibly have any idea what they're talking about and made to look stupid.
The sole reason I stay on this site is because of the amount of knowledge there is. And it's the only reason I paid for my membership, as I felt I needed to give something back...
I've gone from brand new company cars/lease cars to buying a Classic Impreza. The most I could probably do when I got it four months ago is change the wheel! Thanks to this site every issue I've had I've managed to sort myself, which is a massive achievement for me lol, as I'd normally just pay a garage to do it!
When I first joined and had a browse, all I'd stumble across is bitching, arguments etc, so my first impressions of the site were pretty poor.
I also find it quite cliquey in places, I've tried to get involved in a few threads and just get totally blanked.
There are quite a few welcoming members and there are a lot of nice people, but the general feeling I get is that it's old school members only and newbies can do one!
edit - Oh and one last thing, I honestly don't think there is enough moderation on the forum as quite a few threads get way out of hand, this is the first time I've ever seen a moderator post since I joined!
