Tha green wagon is from gelligaer often see it blipping around the place!

Hopefully get to see that lovely machine up close one day, may just kick my **** in to gear and save for one lol!

I got the ecutek map on mine but don't think I can run that racerom software can I to have the tricks that yours got? Would love to have them, yours supports the twin maps don't it?

I'm totally unsure yet Whas wha with it all! Pretty new to scoob scene! From what I could gather when reading posts is that the late sti 05+ is it?? Have different Ecu's or something? Was told I need aftermarket for all the racerom toys??

What does the blob ecu support map wise? It's a uk car and wanted multiple maps for economy and spirited need a boost controller I read somewhere?

Thanks budd, where abouts are you I will keep an eye out for you.

Yea I see that green hatch about a bit to, not may boys on this forum from our area, drive by wire are 06 onwards I believe basicaly electronic throtle as aposed to a throtle cable, you should find that quite easy to identify by looking under the bonnet.

yes twin maps "race" for when you want to have some fun and "Road" for when you want to plod about and you can switch between both when driving.

If your close to me feel free to pop in for a cuppa..

Yes the Hawkeye cars have a different ECU to the earlier cars, Racerom will only ever be available for the Hawkeye and later cars. It's a pity but you can get the same functions from an aftermarket ECU such as an Alcatek, Simtek or Syvecs but they start from around £1K.

The Ecutek maps on the Blobeye will support dual boost levels but not 'proper' dual maps with different fuelling, timing etc.

As for boost controller I wouldn't think so, but you might want to install a 3 port boost solenoid before your car is remapped.

Yea read about the 3 port boost solenoid what's the advantage then? Just holds better boost I suppose is it and makes life a little easier mapping end?

Car is in standard form engine wise, just usual mods such as decat, 3"down pipe an an ecutek map, however when I bought the car I did not realise that the previous owner had changed the exhaust, prior to the previous owner it had a 2.5" system cat back with standard prodrive cat, however the person I got car off changed downpipe for 3" magnex which now meets up to 2.5 power flow section but has never remapped it again, I notice the spool up is a little slower to others I have been in so could this be the reason behind it?

And lee yea literally about 7 mins ( even quicker flat out lol ) over the tin, live in penpedairheol//cascade, some nice roads we got locally to have a quiet blast out of the way of prying eyes should we say will defo have to meet sometime so I can look at ur pride and joy and relish it lol, I say it again that is one sweet ride u have!

Would be nice to meet the welsh guys, tried making the meet on Wednesday but car was stuck up on ramps waiting for handbrake cables to be delivered, can didn turn up till 5pm so didn get a chance to get them fitted and get out

The 3 port boost solenoid is able to control the boost pressure better than the standard 2 port version, it's not vital but it makes the boost control 'smoother'.

If your car had a sports cat fitted and then it was removed, and a decat pipe fitted then yes it would probably cause boost issues, I would get it remapped sooner rather than later or drive it off boost until you can get it remapped.

Will do nice one!

Cheers for tha advice cannon will have a look about for a 3 port as well then! Already started buying my bits and bobs to take it further, got my injectors sorted and hopefully got a decent price on a hayward an Scott 3" back from down pipe

Future plans are sc42/46 turbo
Either Harvey or rcm headers with a Harvey trick uppipe
Further mapping session

Looking for around 400 marker maybe a little more if deemed safe, don't really wanna go internal route just yet, may take the plung one day tho lol

Have been toying with the idea I aftermarket management but thas a big whack out of the change i have at the mo, would sooner see the money go on the blower after seeing some of the results they seem to get out of the oe ecu

Whas ur thoughts?

As for turbo choice I would go for a turbo that is able to make the required figures but not much more, after all if you are aiming for 400bhp then having a turbo that is capable of 460bhp is a bit pointless and it will actually make your car perform not as well as the 420bhp capable turbo.

In general terms the larger the turbo the greater the lag/spool as it is a pay off between spool and power, this can be partly 'cured' by going for one of the new turbo's with billet wheels as the lightened shafts/turbines allow the turbo to spin up quicker.

But I would also look at an Andy Forrest billet TD05/6 20G which should make the power you are aiming for, plus one of the new Lateral Performance MD321 billet turbos as well.

The thing you need to be aware of is that different turbo's will suit different engine sizes, what works on a 2.5 chocolate engine may not be so good on a 2.0 engine.

I have been thinking of the 46 just incase I was to push for more power in future, I am wanting low down boost an hard pull from the word go! Name of the game for me is spool really, would rather have a car I can use than going for the biggest figure if I'm honest, I have read up on both them other turbos but was under the impression that the 42 billet has the quickest spool (like I say all read) would be nice if I could get a ride in a couple with the different blowers and setup to see what would best suit me tbh!

Are there many on here that go to the meets with different setups do you know?
Cheers!

P.s where u from cannon?

If low down spool is your choice (which makes for an excellent road car) then definitely look at turbo's around the 420bhp region, my car has an LM400 billet turbo which with the other 'tweaks' on my car does make a little more than 400bhp.

As my car has a twin scroll setup it will be different to yours in terms of spool and power delivery but you are welcome to jump in the passenger seat at the next meet, I should be at the next Cardiff meet. Have a look at my profile and car garage for a little better list of what's been done to my car.

I live in god's country (Llanelli) and make the daily drive to bring my wisdom to the unwashed masses of Pontypridd where I work.

Nice one will take a look when I get to p.c as my iPhone won't let me look at garages and other stuff like tha ? (unless I'm being proper dumb, chances are tha may b the case lmao)

Lm series is the litchfield turbos ain't they? Thas where I was originally going to go but after lee's post and seems happy with it I may pop up to them for a gander, am probably gonna go JGM mapping or possibly roger Clarke, if I have to travell to litchfield for there expertise then I may still be heading tha way, will have to pop up and see boys at indigo and make my decision from there!

Thanks for info and shall see u down next meet, hopefully I ain't nights!

And once again lee enjoy that lovely machine of yours and shall no doubt catch up in the very near future!

Just to say thanks for showing me the car / RaceROM tonight. Definitely very interesting and great to hear your experience of it.

Think I will be having a chat to IndigoGT tomorrow!!

Must admit I thought my engine bay was clean. Think I will be bring some eggs to cook on yours next time, it's spotless!!
