You've posted the issue right there.
Germany isn't doing too bad despite this worldwide recession.
How come they avoided it and Labia didn't? I'm not a Tory fan boy but to ignore the fact the Labia lot left power with a note in the treasury saying "good luck there is nothing left" is just head in the sand twaddle.

There are many other factors as to why some countries are in a bigger mess than others and to blame Labour or the Tories for all the UK's ills is just daft!

I'm sure there are many more Labourites who in public object to private education but have benefitted from it themselves.
"Do as I say - not as I do" - the Labour motto. Bunch of f'ing hypocrites.

I said that Cameron and Osbourne are rich due to upper crust in-breeding.
I did not say that Blair had to work up the chimneys to pay for his education. Don't confuse one with the other.
Single plain fact is that Cameron and Osbourne don't have a clue about the average working man.

I have to say that you have conveniently forgotten that your heroes managed to convert a strong economy as inherited from the Conservatives into a massive national debt with interst payments so huge that we are struggling to pay them.
They also backed off from regulating the banks as they should have done thus allowing those plonkers to be part of the world recession with their dishonest actions initiated to allow them to make their own fortunes at the country's expense!
If you are going to criticise, you should at least be fair about the way you do it!

Les ... the Tories, at no point whatsoever, stepped up and said STOP!!
Vince Cable did, but the Tories - to a man - failed to step up to the mark

They could have now taken the high ground and shown that they actually knew what was going on more than Labour ...... but, no, they were complacent in their actions.
Of course, to tell the british public to stop borrowing to buy their X5's, council houses and foreign holidays wouldn't have got them elected!

In the name of balance I have to mention that Labour inherited a recovering economy from the Tories (recovering from their appalling mismanagement). Labour also inherited a record (at the time) deficit.
Les you really should examine both sides of the argument

Pete - I noticed that you have avoided answering the question.
You were blathering on about Labours growth policies earlier, you still haven't mention which policies you mean.
I can only assume you mean spending more and growing the deficit??

A bit late now, at the time Blair's energy policy was a poster campaign of building massively expensive, heavily subsidised and hugely ineffective wind farms which have blighted Britain's beautiful countryside. We had a total of 14 nuclear powerstation and some of which are coming up to retirement or have been retired. You'd have to cover every piece of green land in the UK with wind turbines to produce the equivalent power and for only 30% of the time when the wind is actually blowing. Not supprisingly a lot of councils said no to these plans. Whilst he dithered and eventually decided against renewing our nuclear energy, we now instead have to import our energy from the continent and you have the fool Blair and his cabinet to thank for that.

IMHO,the tories are useless, but labour where worse. The self serving idiots got there spades out and started undermining the finances of the UK as soon as they got into power. And that idiot Gordon Brown should hang his slack jawed head in shame at some of the decisions he has made..
At least the tories have upped the base rate of tax allowance so all workers get a few extra quid, and reduced tax credits and child allowance so all the scroungers and sit at home Jeremy Kyle bottom feeders of society get less money to buy **** and cider.

Don't think for a moment that I am particularly impressed by the present mob.
