So let's sum the season up with the stats that matter.

Nice piccy but not even close to the classic 6 x European cup wins Bus, which reminds me I must dig that picture out and the podiums you see are property of the FA, had Lfc been challenging there would have been a set down at Swansea with the KFC crest on it, but that aint gonna happen in our life times is it so consol yourselves with your crumbs

Lol I didn't realise you weren't allowed to feel a little smug at being the best team in the nation. Now I know it's along time ago but are you trying to tell me of all the plastic hangers on from Liverpool's hayday that none were smug or selfrighteous?
Didn't think so

Nobody said you didn't deserve the right to be smug and self-righteousness for a while. But you're going to have to man up and take the abuse gracefully for while, even if it does hurt Preferably without having to stoop to making up random, bitter stuff about KFC But, hey, whatever makes you feel better Nothing for 23 years? Really?

Ahhhh, but you see, being Utd doesn't just mean you get it from the rival clubs, you get it from everyone. So when we do win titles (which is quite often ), we are required to furfil the smugness right around, this starting a vicious circle.
The thing is this season (and the usual suspects will spin this I'm sure) is I personally don't think we deserved the title for a couple of reasons...
1. We didn't play great football, more a style of grinding results out.
2. When City did stuff it up, we stuffed it up even better for them in return!
I'm not actually that gutted because we weren't robbed of anything, we were beaten fair and square. And even being part of an astonishing seasons finale like that was quite the privilege, even if we came out second best. It would have felt sweet nicking it from under City's noses but a hallow victory.
It hurts not having 'our' title again, but not because City have it, but because we weren't good enough to maintain that 8 point gap. I hold the players responsible for that.
That's an honest take from as unbiased a view as I can make, but I understand that's not enough because it's Utd we're talking about, not any other club. So the banter continues, well the scousers call it banter, Utd call it envy as posted above and the merry-go-round continues another cycle

Utd have been by far the most successful club of recent times. Everyone is going to be happy when a shift occurs. That's not to say anyone loves City or the fact that they won the title, we're (speaking for myself) just glad that it's someone different for a change

Do you genuinely believe that it's 'because we're Utd' ? And the same doesn't apply to other teams? Every other fans (except rivals) love Liverpool FC?

Well, only being 27, I can't remember Liverpools hayday ( ). Are you saying hand on heart to me that in the 70's/80's everyone was an ABL as apposed an ABU of todays era? Honest question as then I can understand the jealousy towards Utd of times gona past

Where's that fishing hook and worm
I'm far too young to remember
Everyone hated Utd back then too In all seriousness, yes we were hated in thre 70s/80s/90s. If you're not hated, then you clearly don't matter

Never the same as refusing to play and then walking out on your club for a 6 month golfing holiday in the Argentine is it.
Come on you're old enough and sensible enough to put some perspective into the argument rather than spin.

I Work with an Lfc season ticket holder, proper scouser, and he's being saying the same, upstairs to bed for Kenneth and Martinez to come in, now he's a good coach so I dont want to see that happen !!!!

Thing is (and Jeff will agree), he's the most biased ABU going. Regardless of the situation he hates everything about Utd, it's fans, it's 'I'll gotton' success, our manager, players, everything. To him Utd are the perfect example of what is wrong with the modern game and yadda, yadda, blah-blah, whoop-de-de, blah-blah...

Teves refused to play, didn't turn up to training, went AWOL
Mancini said he was finished and would never play for them again, all of a sudden Teves is back
Balotelli - only a matter of time before he causes serious injury to another player
Doesn't suit up on match day like the rest of the team, and generally does what he wants - maybe Mancini is afraid of him?

Glad to see the Utd fans putting their spare 'celebratory' time to good use
What's your take on this?
Personally, I think it's a total and utter disgrace
Getting our hopes up like that

The guy's a bit thick what can you say.
Ashley Cole was quoted as being "F*cking furious" to find out Tevez is now the biggest ****** in football

It was only fekking about because when Tevez went to City Fergie said it was a silly move because City wouldnt win the league in his lifetime. Its exactly the same banter given back IMO. Fair play to Tevez
