I think the point of the thread has been lost somewhat: Do I need to worry about getting old and lonely, or where to leave my money to? As child free the answer is yes...but then again it so often seems to be yes even for those with children. Having children doesn't change those concerns, so having children to avoid them is a terrible reason to do so, as you may end up no better off and a darn sight more dissappointed in how your life turned out.
Off course you can still endure a lonely old age with or without kids, but I dream of an old age surrounded by my beautiful, gorgeous successful children and my equally joyous grandchildren
As it happens I spent last night at my father’s house in London, and we had breakfast together this morning, having a really good chat – he looks better now than I ever remember him
And I hope the circle of life brings that to me too
