I really have no idea what 'fun' car to get in the next 12 months
I only live 3 miles from work so it would be my everyday car, but I would only be doing say 600 miles a month.
I don't want a typical boring family car. We only have 1 child (don't plan on having any more!) and he only goes in my car a couple of times a week, so I really think I could cope with a 3 door motor.
It's just trying to convince the mrs!
Thought of a nice BMW 330, but repair costs worry me more than mpg plus £6000 is the starting price of a good low mileage manual example, whereas £6000 for a CTR would get you the last of the EP3 in immaculate condition.
Hmmmm.
Had a DC2 Teg a few years back and really miss it.

[IMG][/IMG]
I loved it. Only had 13k miles on when i bought it....50k when i sold it two years later (to buy an M3!)
They'd just come out so not many on the road and everyone waved to each other in them too! i got about 28-30mpg

These aren't bad little cars really. There is one that lives near me, often seen exiting the local petrol station on full chat.
They are maybe a little bit 'Baz & Daz' for my liking though.

I've just bought this. Had the STi almost 7 years and with it being my everyday driver the cost of petrol was just getting too much.
Limited edition. Only 600 made in Championship White. got a LSD so pulls out of bends nicely. Nowhere even close to the pace of my old 420 Bhp STi but enough for a bit of fun.

sorry I didn't reply sooner as I am on a oilrig at present.
with the child seat I find it easyer to put my one year old son in the civic than the impreza even with the impreza having four door's.
I highly recomend a ep3 civic type r as it is just amazing to drive and the vtec
just put's a big smile on my face the reliability is very good as the engine is perfect
you cant go wrong with a type r mate as the are very good
And thanks to every one for the comments
I have some better photos of the car with some new mods so I will post them when I get home from offshore

Used to have an EP3 type r in red and had the standard alloys painted championship white, owned the car two years then bought the scoob, do really miss it. If I could afford to buy another one and still run the scoob I definetly would.

Seems like EP3 owners past and present are coming out the woodwork in this thread, so might as well join in... I got a 2006 EP3 Premier a couple of weeks back from my sister rather than let her trade it in and it's absolutely fantastic fun. Costs me £60 to fill with V-Power from empty and with a variation of town/b-roads it seems to return around 250miles per tank, so I'm sure 300-odd wouldn't be hard to get on a more steady run.

Yep, currently backbox only.. however I'm wanting to get a silenced stainless b-pipe in the near future to save the condition of the standard one for if/when it comes to sell the car on.
I had an EK9 with a Hytech manifold, Spoon b-pipe (unsilenced) and N1 backbox and it was absolutely insane.. great for when you're out for a blast, but just too much (for me) on even a semi daily basis.

Grant

This one is literally around the corner from me. Wonder if he would be interested in a straight swap with my ford focus!

yea gear head it is a very nice civic mate
The vtec engines are strong so 118k should be okay provided its been serviced regular.
it's a nice colour and it looks in good condition.
Vtecs are just so much fun if you get one I am sure you will love it.
What I like about mine is it's just so nimble when nipping in between traffic and the fuel costs are very good compared to my old scoob
it will never be as fast as a scoob but in my opinion the type r is awesome
