Classic Sti paddy where did u get the car sprayed ? I could do with getting a few skirts and a chip on the bonnet sprayed. That car is a credit to you.

Where about in Ireland you from?

Was at the Donegal rally myself a few years ago have a holiday house over there.

 

Am from north kildare, just outside Edenderry, not far over the border but far enough!!

 

Fair play Eric, about time you put this up. I can't explain how clean and well put together this car is-it's truely awesome! The work yourself and the bucks put into this payed off. I wouldn't have the paitence to tackle any of it. It truely is a credit to you and in my opinion, the finest impreza in Ireland. It oozes class and stands out a mile without being "in your face"
Please do the members a favour on here and take some photos of it out on the green on a sunny day! It's actually that white it's hard to look at on a sunny day. There's not one thing on the car out of place, nor is there anything else needed. What's done is done right(and yes you are far too **** in some ways!)
I wish you many many happy miles in it and if you ever sell I want first refusal! (even though I know it will never happen!)

Ordered injectors from fiveO motorsport in the states on fri last, so should be here in 7-14 days, bit of a gamble I know but had some good feed back about them on here, and at e290 delivered, I think its worth a punt. have the run in miles on her and am really looking forward to mapping, will let yez know how i get on.

ordered Injectors on friday and they were waiting for me when I came in from work on wednesday!! couldnt belive it, was waiting weeks for some parts from the uk and these came from the states in five days
although they came with new plugs, there was no need as my 97 plugs worked perfect.
started car, then unplugged fuel pump and let her bleed out as the system is pressurised, had to move things about a bit to get at rails but not a major issue, pulled out old injectors, Small bit of grese on the new rubber O rings and in they went, no bother, refit everything, turn on and off ignition a few times to prime system and she started first time.
Car drives perfect and no leaks, wont really know how good they are untill shes mapped and over some time and miles, but so far I am impressed, they are by a very long shot the most reasonable injectors out there
Have the AVCR plumbed in now and oil changed as she is booked in for mapping early next week, only took her for a short spin to make sure all was ok, mindfull of the fact it would be over fuelling with the bigger injectors and boost controllers unknown settings.
Will let yez know how I get on...

 

Bit of a snag with the mapping!!!
its like the turbos not getting enough air, really long lazy spool up then falls off straight away, maybe the air intake is not getting a straight enough run to turbo??
Its a rcm400 on a ver 3, has any one used that turbo on a classic before and had this trouble?
Any help appreciated guys.

 

What did you use as a top coat paint on the gauge pod? Is it a good match to the rest of the interior trim?

A very laggy 320bhp!!
Its bittersweet... good to be back on the road, but shes not right, the turbo is more suited to a newage, with the 76ml air inlet there is too much of a squeeze under the ver 3 inlet, nearly 1/3 of the mouth of the turbo is blocked by the leg of the inlet that along with a fmic and using a power fc means keeping the mass air flow sensor, he just cant get it too spool up, the air intake is too restrictive..
Need to go back to a 56ml turbo inlet, something with a strong bearing so it will spool earlier and higher and hold it , am looking at a hybrid from turbo technics based on a vf23 with a 360 degree pinned bearing..... but as i blew the best part of a grand on turbo, bigger inlet pipe im low on funds...

Used the same crinkle VHT paint as I used on the manifold and rocker covers, its a perfect finish as normal paint would look to home made, it also covers up any imperfections left by the filling process. use a test piece to see if your happy with it.

Got injectors from fiveo motorsport in the states, cant praise these enough, €290 to the door!! and came in less than a week!!!! fitted and worked perfect.. happy days. if you want to pm worbs on here he might have some more info on sterling prices and custom charges for ye.. good luck.
