What about an RS5?

Recent thread on here, where someone bought a blue one. Looks awesome.
That way you get a great looking car. Fast to drive, and you still have the AWD traction.

Although the critics have said it ain't the best thing to drive. But would an everyday driver on everyday roads really notice?

It has the same engine he's already got, other option is rs6 they have twin turbo v10 inside, I would get one but out of my price range.
My option would be is keep rs4 and get the Mtm supercharger fitted to it cos that's wat I'm going to do

The valves i was referring to were inside the engine not the exhaust (although they can seize, its an easy job to lube them).
Audi FSi engines are renowned for coking up over time and hence losing a bit of power. Not that I have noticed..

Ive been in an RS5 as a passenger. Great boom sound on the gear change! Other than that i've read too much about lack of steering feel and driver involvement and i personally don't think they look aggresive enough. As I've experienced the playstation steering of the TT-RS, I'll leave it there until Audi build a decent affordable drivers car again.. Very expensive too! Second hand GT3 and R8 territory..

I had a RS4 and wished i had kept it, was a awesome car but too many little niggles started to raise their heads on the forum rs246.com

like:

DRC
Exhaust valves
carbon
seat bolster wear
inflatable pockets in seats failing
water getting in boot
clutch return pipe
tyre pressure sensors

Thats just a few, luckily i only suffered from the inflatable seat not holding inflation when S button pressed, never bothered fixing as it was expensive and frankly a gimmick.

These cars are now coming up between 5 and 7 years old so a lot more will start to go wrong unless you get a minter, i mean replacement discs and pads are abou £1000.

I would love another one and would advise you to sell as i predict that prices will fall when the new B8 RS4 comes out in summer, especially if it gets the same reviews the B7 got.

Good luck.

I down graded to a Renault R26 230 F1 Team in white, cracking little car and gives all the thrill i need at the moment, saying that im always on the lookout for my next car.

I really fancy getting back into a RS4 one day though, best all round car i've had.

I've just yesterday sold my 07 RS4, sprint blue, saloon, had it 3 years, overall found it to be a great car - had always fancied one.

Only real issues for me were the mpg - even driving it carefully it rarely got into the 20s mpg (I certainly didnt buy it for economy but as a daily driver its expensive...) and it needed driving really hard to get decent performance, and then under heavy braking it was pretty twitchy, due to the weight I guess.

Sounded awesome with the Milltek Exhaust on it and had more gadgets on it than a Bond car.

Unfortunately RS4 used values have plummeted over the last few months or so, and they're falling fast now, 06 plates are selling around 18-19k and 07s in the early twenties.

Not sure what to get now, quite fancy a modern-classic car - maybe RS500 Cosworth if I can find a good one an un-silly price!
